Jan, as long as you're buying the groceries, I would be glad to fix your dinner.  Bec and I could fix you a feast.  I baked several things yesterday.  I made Pumpkin Gooey Cake from Light and Tasty.  Unfortunately, I didn't read the recipe thoroughly.  Thinking I could replace the sugar with a substitute I thought it was something I could eat.  However, the sugar in the filling was powdered sugar.  I don't know why it was in that magazine because it's sure not low calorie.  I'll send home some with my son and take it to the 2 dinners I'm going to today and Saturday.

For our dinner tonight at my SD's I'm making a Corn Casserole, Sweet Potatoes with apples and a fruit salad.

I did lose a couple pounds this week.  I've really cut back on the carbs and added protein.  It's crazy the effects carbs have.  It's finally registered if I want to lose more weight, I have to eliminate most carbs.

Hope everyone has a lovely day.  It's sunny but cold here.  It's been a rough year for many people.  My sister lost her job and is a step away from being homeless.  Her daughter has offered her for her to live with them until she can get back on her feet.  She has made a lot of bad decisions over the past few years.  No drugs or anything like that.  Please say a prayer for her that she can find a job.

Happy Thanksgiving everyone!  I have so many things to be thankful for this year.  I'm sure excited to be able to eat a tad bit more than last year.  My daughter and I are fixing dinner for our family and my parents.  We watched the Macy's parade and have the turkey and ham in the over.  All that'she left is cleaning up the mess and setting the table.  We do our Christmas pics every Thanksgiving and always get into a fight LOL.  I hope at least one turns out good.  JO your deserts sound so good!  I hope everyone has a wonderful day and weekend!  My friend and I are hitting the sales tomorrow, God be with us ;) Lou

Each of you are special to me in differrent ways, I'm thankful for all of you!   GO RAIDERS!

Happy Thanksgiving Mama Jan & MO Peeps!!

Well, I've been feeling better these past few days.  Still have "episodes".  I'm hoping that I can make it thru the holidays without having to go see Dr. H.  Time will tell.

We usually have Thanksgiving Dinner with all the kids at our house at Noon.  However, Erin, my stepdaughter, asked if we could pu**** back.  Her great grandma's nursing home is having a Thanksgiving Dinner at Noon today.   Of course, I said sure!  Actually we may have to start having it later.  I've enjoyed not having to get up and rush around this morning.  Did a lot of the preparation yesterday.  Not much to do today except the potatoes, green beans and corn.  David deep fries our turkeys.  We bought a Turk N Surf from a lady on Craigslist last year for $50 brand new still in the box.  We love it!  Plus it's a lot safer than the propane ones.  It will even steam vegetables, lobster, shrimp, etc.  Haven't tried to steam anything but I'm thinking I need to.  A big pot of Frog-more Stew would be great in it.  I've always wanted to make it just haven't done it yet.

Today both my stepchildren and their significant other is coming, along with my Mom and Dad and then of course David and the boys plus my grandson, Kameron.  My table with all the leaves in it fits a comfortable 10, but we're going to have to squeeze another one in.  We also have a nice breakfast bar with 4 nice big wooden stools, however, no one likes sitting there.  Everyone wants to be around the table.  As our family grows though the younger ones are just going to have to sit at the breakfast bar.   We'll cross that bridge when we come to it.
It'll be nice having ALL the kids here.  My camera is charged and ready!  lol!

Jan - I'll be your grandsons are enjoying you and Joe.  Sounds like a feast your having today.  This is the first year David and the boys have actually go to watch the football game.  We're usually eating then cleaning it all up.  My stepdaughter has started helping clean up.  I'm thinking all the kids are old enough now to clean up especially if we do all the cooking!  ;)

MO Peeps - Happy Thanksgiving to all of you!  Please remember to thank our Heavenly Father today from who all blessing flow!!
