Help please - what are the symptoms of a "stoma"?

Good Morning, Everyone:

Actually it's not been a good morning for me.  For the past month I have been having aches below my belly button and above my groin area.  I also have been having a lot of diarrhea.  I can't remember when I've had a regular bowl movement.  I'm wondering if it could be a stoma?  However, I don't think it's my pouch.  I think it's somewhere in my bowels.

I honestly thought it was a viral thing but now I'm not so sure.  I also thought it might have been cramping.  I have not had a period since July and no I'm NOT pregnant!  Needless to say I'm perplexed and I really need to get better!

I may have to call Dr. Hornbostel.  I HATE to do that with Thanksgiving coming up this next week!  Also have to launch the Adopt an Angel Program at our Church tomorrow!!  This is a very BAD time of year to have something wrong.  Plus I'll have to travel to Sedalia to see Dr. H.

Please let me know what your experience have been and if you think I should call Dr. H.

Thanks,
Debbie D.

honey i dont know what you are refering too...a stoma isnt that the opening from your pouch to your intestines or at the other end, going into the pouch...do you mean a blockage or something like that?
anyway no matter what it is called , if it is making you sick and hurting then go see Dr. H. and if not go to your urgent care there and see if they might have an idea will be praying for you for healing and for peace of mind and NOTHING NO NOTHING  is as important as your health...no angel trees, no Thanksgiving dinner , no company NOTHING.   so call and see what you can find out. Call Margie and she will return your call for sure. ....love and hugs...

Hey Debbie,

Like Jan said, the stoma is the opening in the bottom of your pouch that the food goes out of.  With those kind of symptoms it really sounds like you need to get a hold of a doctor.  We'll sure keep you in our prayers.

I have been feeling the same way. I wonder if it is the panni pulling on my abdominal wall. I have had inflammatory bowel disease in the past. It may be flaring up. I get a very hot feeling sometimes before a bout of diarrhea. I also have an uncomfortable feeling all the time. If you find out whats wrong let me know. I haven't tried to see a doctor about mine since I recently had surgery I was hoping it was normal healing. Hope you feel better.
