WHATS HAPPENING WEDNESDAY

So nothing much new going on with me same on thing over and over , nothing going as well as I think it should be….I really try and try and try and today after using the machine for exactly 7 hours today, tonight it is swollen and painful …I cant believe that it is ever going to get any better…im really getting discouraged about it. …don’t mean to make you all be down too but darn it I cant figure out why im having so much trouble getting any advancement. Oh well it isn’t going to get any better by whining.

JO:::::so you all had snow?? Wow we didn’t have any that I know of. Well I really wouldn’t know since I was inside all day…..did you get to the gymn last night. Hope so I wish I could get to a water aerobics class right now…I think that would help. But don’t know.

isn’t it sad to see someone deliberating making themselves being fat and fatter and you can see it and know what they are doing but they wouldn’t listen to you if you tried to say anything thas tom . Sad but it is only something they can do for themselves. All you can do is be an example that is all.

JEANIE-RAE::::: well I know a great doctor to go see if you have to start over. You are already approved with your insurance arent you:? Dr. Hornbostel is not only my surgeon but I really believe God led me to him….it all just went so smooth when I found him. It is a little drive up to see him but he doesn’t have you coming back and forth a lot …he will combine so much of it into one day if you tell him that you have to drive a long ways too. And they are always so available honestly….

I don’t mean to say anything bad about or for Dr, Edwards in any way…shape or form…I think they all just get so busy that they cant keep up ….

Hope you are feeling better and don’t have a fever now….get better ok??

I spent the weekend in St Louis shopping and going to the rams game. We had a great time. I have spent so much money lately I feel like I need to rob a bank. I guess I figure I won't be losing to much more  so its safe to buy new clothes.  I have bought four new coats. I am afraid I will freeze this winter. I have to figure out how to pay for my PS now. I was afraid to tell DH how much I committed to pay but he took it pretty well. I just wish that was all I needed. I go back to my doctor today to ask again for the tummy to be covered by insurance. I sure hope it will be. Then I may be able to get the rest done next year. I need work from top to bottom. I decided to start with things I cannot hide under summer clothes. I know thighs may not be a big deal for some people but mine really deflated and look horrible. I would not want to wear shorts much less a bathing suit. I plan to wear one this summer. I will just have to suck it up and bear my droopy arms and try not to flop around to much.
I never thought I would want to have surgery so much. I am a little scared this time. I have heard thighs are painful. I also have been thinking about Angie. If any of you have had your thighs done let me know how you got thru it.
Jan don't get discouraged about your recovery. You sound like you are doing great. Compared to me you get an A+. I was not able to get in and out of bed alone till about five weeks out. It was not a pretty picture. At least you only had one done at a time. I still do not have the range I thought I would have and still have some pain with my knees.
They say the rain is about over and maybe tomorrow we will see the sun, sure hope so. Stay warm and dry everyone.

Good Morning Mimi and Mo....

You asked if I knew where I would be working in Penney's?  Yes, I will be working in the Women's Department zoning. Basically just helping the customers and keeping the dressing rooms clean.  I'm kind of looking forward to it.  It will be nice to do something different for a change.

Snow? Bring it on!  It is so beautiful in the country when it snows... I still have plants that have not died back yet... my elephant ears still have green on them... should I go ahead and dig them up any way?  My hydrangeas still have living leaves on them too? seems kind of late for things not to be totally died back doesn't it?

It's rained here ALL day for three days now... spent two days in town running errands in the down pours... still have to go one more time this week as I found a jerky gun and they are holding it for me... but have to get it today by 3:00... going to go ahead and pick up the spices I need too.  Connie was so very kind to post the recipes she uses... I'm just excited to try them.  Even picked up the hamburger and froze it so I would have it and be ready after Christmas! ~ha

Jo is coming home this weekend so I'm working on the menu for her... need to get some ingredients today as well... then I will be able to stay in till Sunday when I work.  Boy these weeks just fly by...

Say... I hadn't been on my gazelle for some time... I guess since I got the new Thera Shoes?... well since it has been raining I went out in the garage and got on it and boy does those shoes do nice on that machine! So smooth... I was even able to hook the resistance up and do about 7 minutes (wow that's hard)... I'm going to get where I can do the whole 30 minutes... it will take me a while I'm sure but it's another goal I guess?

Jo ~ I hope you were able to make it to the gym... I know exercise is hard for you... I know when I started out I made mini goals and I  mean "mini" (10 minutes) and then worked up from there... it didn't seem so daunting that way... I hope you find a comfortable place where you don't have to struggle/dread it and most of all that you see the continued weight loss that you want to... we are in kind of the same place I think... getting comfortable with where we are... but know we should lose a bit more to be at the best health we should be.  I wish you the best with the exercise!

I now have two crock pots of apple butter and am going to start on the cinnamon apple sauce... then I am going to make all the neighbors apple pies next week, 12 in all I think.  That will take me all day for sure.

Then I will store the rest of the apples in the fridge and use them along.

Going to ride along with my sis to a Dr. appt on Monday, I haven't done that for a long time so I will enjoy the time with her.

Mimi ~ you hang in there, I bet you are doing better than you think. This time will be over and you will be back to tooling around like always, I just know it!  Praying for your grandsons too.

Pooh ~ hope to get you a package in the mail today. I am praying diligently for your dear momma and for you and your family as well!

Debbie Darl'n ~ mailing you a package as well.  I'm slow but I am getting it done! ~ha

Andy & Susan ~ If you are not back home yet... safe travels! Can't wait to hear all about your trip!

Janet and Renee ~ you girls are in my thoughts and prayers... so so so glad you were not hurt!

Susie ~ wow I'm excited for you about he PS! Know that will probably not be an option for me any time soon or ever... but am so happy for you! I hope the results turn out to be all you are hoping for!

Susyalba ~ my prayers are with you and your family as well!

Lana ~ What a time you had! Hope you are getting better every day.

Jeanie ~ Hang in there and don't give up! It took me two long years fighting with my insurance to get them to approve the surgery but they finally did and here I am over a year out now... I will be praying the issues you are facing can be worked out and the very best will be done for you!

Lou ~ what fun thing are you up to now?

Know I have missed some but I sure am wishing the best for all today.

Have a good day all,

Bec

Bec glad to hear you found a jerky gun. Hopefully you and DH will enjoy the jerky. Might be a good item to include in Christmas gift trays too. It always seems to impress people even though it is very simple to make, just takes a little time to dehydrate.
Glad like the recipes,

Hi Connie...

Just got back from picking up the gun and it had two tips in it...one for jerky and one for rolls/sticks... have you ever made those and do you bake them in the oven too?  Do you have to buy skins for those? like you get when the have them made at the processors?

Then another question:  I was looking at the liquid smoke and they had hickory and mesquite... is the one in your recipe hickory? or is there just a plain smoke you can buy?... they did not have just plain... do I need to keep looking?

Is Accent the same as meat tenderizer?  I haven't done much of this kind of thing so I am learning as I go... sure glad you have done it and can give me some pointers! ~ha

Last year my brother brought a bowl of jerky for the family Christmas get together...(snack foods type thing) and it was a HUGE hit... it was gone in no time... I know it had to have been at least 5 lbs of meat maybe 10 it was a pretty good size bowl.  My Paul LOVVVVZ meat!  He will sure enjoy it... I dearly wish we had deer meat to make it up with... so lean and HUGE on the protein too.

I do simply love the recipes! and thank you again for taking the time to write them out so very kind of you!

I tried the roll tip but it took too much meat so I just reshaped it into strips. I was looking for volume with my projects as there were always more soldiers than budget. You don't need skins they just take alot longer to dehydrate cause of their density. They are supposed to be more like Slim Jims than jerky I think.
As far as liquid smoke it is personal preference. I usually use hickory but like the mesquite too. And yes the Accent is the meat tenderizer stuff.
It is amazing how meat shrinks up using this method so your brother probably did have at least 10 pounds starting out. I would put in the oven what looked like a huge amount of jerky and by the time it was done it looked like someone had stolen my jerky and replaced it with little pieces of bacon. WHAT THE HECK????
I don't eat deer, I'm too soft hearted, but have heard alot of people talk about how good it is made into jerky. But not in my kitchen! I mourn the deers along side the highways that get hit. DUH! I know, but very thankful my husband does not hunt. Nothing wilder than a turkey on Thanksgiving is my kitchen rule. Now you know more about me than you really wanted I'm sure. TEE HEE
I can hear your excitement in your post, I look forward to hearing about your success. I'm sure Paul is too.

I got a chuckle out of you thinking someone stole your jerky!!!

I for sure don't know more about you than I wanted... alot people feel that way about the deer...they are very beautiful... I guess way more than an ole cow! ~tee hee

I dearly love to watch them jump over a fence... they are so graceful!  I ALWAYS wish I could do it that gracefully... heck I would just snag the very first part that touched the fence and plunk on over! ~ha

I sure know what you mean about the budget. I always have way more desire than I ever have budget! ~ha

Thanks again for all the info.. this is simply great!

Jan, don't get discouraged.  I know that's hard sometimes when you want to be active and can't.  Take time to rest and you'll be all healed up in no time.

I did't make it to the gym.  Six of us in the office went to Harvester's, a food bank, to volunteer for a couple hours.  We took canned veggies from a huge box and packed them in smaller boxes.  It really messed up my left shoulder and made my neck ache and gave me a bad headache.  My shoulder gets out of whack any time I raise my arms up.  I probably need to have it fixed but I'm not interested in any kind of surgery.

I have a Gazzelle but no place to set it up.  I think I would really like it.  I'm going to see if I can't move things around in my craft room to make room for it.

This week I've tried my best to keep the carbs at 50 or below but it's not happening.  I'm eating good carbs and most of them come from my protein drinks.  A little here and there add up.

I ordered several things from netrition.com today.  They have some good buys.  Bariactric Eating sells a sweetener I like for $16.95 a bag but netrition has the same thing for $11.95.  I like it for baking better than Splenda.  Also got a good price on Lean Dessert protein powder.

The snow melted but we have more rain today.  There's some danger of flooding around here but not for me.
