Hello all, I'm a new member. I have my first appt. with a surgeon at St. Luke's in Kansas City next Tues.

Has anyone else gotten their surgery and care through St. Luke's?  What were your experiences and are you happy with their program/dept.?

I had my RNY with Dr. Price on 9/21/09 and have had a great experience with all of the staff at his office.  I have been seeing him since June and I really like that you see 5 people every time you go in for an appointment....Dr, nurse, exercise therapist, dietician, and psychologist.  They are really into the "whole person" and are all very easily accessible and easy to talk with.  The care that I remember from the hsopital stay was good, though I don't remember much after the surgery....I don't like to be in pain so I took advantage of the good stuff while in the hospital.

If you have more questions, feel free to ask.

Dr. Price and his staff are wonderful.  I had my surgery 7/8/08 and have absolutely no regrets.

I have to say Tricia, the physiologist, gets on my nerves with her exercise requirements.  I know exercise is important but I'm never going to exercise 7 days a week.

Good luck and post here your progress.

Hi everyone I began the process @ st luke's but didn't lose the weight pre-op ... still it is good to hear that you have all had good experiences! everyone @ st luke's seems very nice and thorough. i an wondering if they will let me 'start over' again ...!
two reminders for myself:
(1) ME: in charge of surrender .... GOD: in charge of results
(2) operate from a mindset of empowerment, not shame
