Well everyone, my surgery date is growing closer.  I had my assessment at Bothwell hospital today. I had to do lab, have a couple of x-ray's, talked with the dietitian, and physical therapist, Also did my scope today.  I'm now on my 2 week clear liquid diet. I still have 10 lbs. to lose. I'm going to work hard to get it off and get my surgery done and I can't wait to change my old way of life. Not just for myself, but for my little one. There has been so much I've missed out on because of my weight and lymphedema.
I have to admit, I am scared out of my wit's to have the surgery. I freaked out when I had my scope today. I dislike hospital's, hate to be put asleep and worry about every little thing. But I have to have the surgery, everything else has totally failed and I feel 95 instead of 35. I totally trust Dr. Hornbostel. He is a great doctor and is so nice and caring. I truly recommend him to everyone wanting the WLS.

Hi and welcome you are going to love this wls journey you are about to get on...it is the most wonderful thing that has happen to so many of us in our whole lives other than giving birth....
You do have a GREAT doctor...and he and Margie are both so careing. and they truly mean it about if you have any questions or problems after surgery about calling them ....I have emailed Margie about things many times and she always gets right back to me , by email or by phone if it is something more serious than i think.
we will all be waiting by the losers bench and have you a seat on the end  ready and polished for you.
If you stick to that liquid diet you will lose the ten pounds and probably more in the next two weeks...so dont fret about that ok.....it may seem like you arent losing but then wham you will lose a bunch in one day.... hang in there it only gets better from here on out...just remember that it is a life style change that you cant have the surgery and then eat all the things that made us fat in the first place ,...good luck and keep coming on the board ...we are always here.

Hi Jrsmom...

I just wanted to pop in here and welcome you to the board, say hi and introduce myself to you... My name is Becky... I live very close to you at Marshall Junction right off Hwy 65.

When is your surgery? I wish you the very best.  You are in such good hands with Dr. H.  He could not do my surgery due to insurance, but he has been our family surgeon for many years now... he and his wife are such caring people.

I can so relate when you say you feel 95 instead of 35!  I felt just like that, but hold on lady bug... good things are on the way... I have picked up 7 pickup beds of walnuts recently, would of NEVER been able to do that before!!!  My daughter just yesterday said I needed to slow down as I jumped on and off the tractor... the summer before I had surgery I pulled a muscle in my shoulder pretty bad pulling myself up on the tractor. Now I can just hop right on and off... I stooped over to pick up all those nuts and didn't feel like my guts were coming out of my nose! It was great!!!

What is your name if you don't mind telling... what day is it you are having surgery? Best, best, best wishes as you start this wonderful journey!

My name is Jamie Gray, I'm having surgery on October 26th.  I'm truly looking forward to having the surgery, I've tried so many things and nothing seemed to work for me. But I am pretty scared at the same time, I have never liked hospital's or being put to sleep. So my nerves are pretty shot right now. LOL I was so happy to hear my husband would be able to stay with me while I was in the hospital. that was one really big worry off my mind. I know I'll feel way better with him with me. Thank you all for being so nice, all your well wishes are so great.

Jamie...

You will be just fine.  I remember just a year ago feeling some of the same apprehensions you are having now. Soon you will look back on all this and be simply amazed at how your life has changed.

I lost 120 lbs in this past year and still have 20 to 40 to go...

Please feel free to contact me if you need anything, just need to talk or have questions, I'm more than willing to help in anyway I can.

How are you doing on the liquid diet?  Thinking of you and wishing you the very best.
