Daily Bible Reading - Tuesday - October 13th
The devotional reminds me of a time in my life where I had stop hanging out so much with a couple friends and even a family member. Before I had WLS we’d go over to a friends house often and have dinner and so forth, they’d fix so much and we’d all eat a ton. When I decided to have WLS they were really negative about it and so were some family. The more I hung around them the more they wanted to talk me out of it. Now that I look back it looks as if they were trying to get me to not do it because they’d lose their eating buddy or something. We’d eat and play games all night long. I knew though that I had to move to the next level of my life and I would have to do it without them. Sadly they were not supporting me in losing weight. Today the family and friends that did not support us look as see how well my wife and I are doing and now say they want to get WLS. I’ll always be there to support them in that journey if they chose to take it, I can’t however hang around them until they do chose to walk that path for the reason that the last time we were with them they tried to talk Susan out of her getting surgery. We both would get this surgery again, I would not trade having WLS for nothing, it’s been the best thing that’s happened to the both of us.

Daily Devotional
"He who walks with the wise grows wise, but a companion of fools suffers harm"
(Proverbs 13:20, NIV)
Sometimes, in order to embrace the destiny God has in store, you have to be willing to make some changes in your life. You have to be willing to examine where you are and what you need to move forward. This may mean you need to change some friends that you're spending time with. Maybe they were fine for a season in your life, but you've outgrown them. This is a new season, and in order for you to rise higher, you have to break away from relationships that are limiting you. You have to develop some new friendships with people who are going to pull you up and inspire you to rise higher.
I've found if you're the smartest one in your group, your group is too small. Find people who are smarter than you are, people who will challenge you to stretch to the next level and become everything God's created you to be. Remember, he who walks with the wise becomes wise. Choose your friends wisely so that you can walk and live in the destiny God has in store for you.
A PRAYER FOR TODAY
"Father God, thank You for Your grace and mercy. Thank You for the good plan You have for my life. Help me choose my friends and companions wisely so that I can continue to move forward in the destiny You have for me. In Jesus' Name. Amen."
