Just Checking In
Hi All,
I have been trying to catch up a bit on the past two weeks posts. How very sweet it has been to see some thinking of me. You are all precious to wonder how I am doing.
I have been on the go like never before. Just finished a WONDERFUL visit with Debbie D. this week, seems like that sweet lady is always meeting a need I have in one way or another! And... she brought me a simply FANTASTIC surprise when she visited... a Thomas Kincaid throw she and Jake had made!!! It is beautiful and so very very special to me that it comes from such sweet folks! For the first time in weeks I stopped and took a nap for one hour... I got all cuddled up and warm in that blanket and know I could of slept till tomorrow if I had let myself... it was so snuggly soft and warm! Thank you ever so much Debbie Darl'n!
Boy oh boy where to begin to update? I have been down to the sil's again to do a project, went to the farm show and got a walnut wizard... that thing is so COOL!!!! and also got a walnut cracker too. I have picked up two pickup loads of walnuts now and have not EVEN touched the amount that are on the ground. That will be my MAJOR focus this week. Hope to finish filling up the dump truck and maybe the dump trailer too. I have a pickup bed size trailer I pull behind the lawn mower and then I dump the nuts into the bucket of the tractor and then lift it up to the dump truck... Paul has been doing that for me but will have to do it myself this week as he will be moving his mom... she sold her farm so he will go and help her get moved.
I went to the Ozark Craft show last weekend while I was down at the sil's. I enjoyed it as well and got several new ideas to make.
This week I helped the ladies at the church cook and feed the homeless, had a appt with PCP for my one year appt. He was so pleased with my progress... even though I have lost a bit slower than some. Stopped by and seen my mom a few minutes, had lunch with a friend, seems like I have been on the go for weeks and weeks.
Crystal took me to Penney's today they had an additional 50% off clearance items .... I got 5 active wear out fits (10 pieces), a dress shirt, and 6 soft shirts to go under jackets and layered shirts all for just over $100 dollars.. such good deals! One of the outfits alone had been $60. I did not have any warm clothes for just everyday wear. So now hopefully I will be set for this winter anyway? Crystal has worked at Penney's so long she knows when the good sales will be and how to get the best values...take advantage of extra coupons, door-busters and such... it's GREAT!!!
Mimi ~ thank you for the pics of your yard and flowers I really enjoyed them. Looks like you have done quite a bit since I was last there...LOVE that arch! I will be praying that your knee surgery goes well and you will be right back on your feet real soon and can ride that bike like a teenager! ~ha Also so glad to hear Mr. Joe did not have any serious heart issues! PTL!!!
Pooh Bear ~ I will look forward to seeing you in the near future! I will send you a message here soon. Loved the pics you have posted recently... you are looking fab~u~la~tas~tic!!! A year sure has made a lot of diff! I liked the one of you and Laura... she is looking well too.
Andy... I have been keeping up with the bible readings but have gotten way behind on the devotions! If you have them all in one spot could you send them to me from the time you had to quit posting with computer problems? If that is any trouble... not even to worry about it for sure. I sure have been enjoying that music... what a blessing!
Susan! ~ WOW 177... that's fantastic!!! So proud of you!!!
Janet ~ will continue to pray for you as well... will be so glad when you get that hysto taken care of and out of the way... all healed up and feeling so much better!
Renee ~ Golly Wow lady that avatar you have on Face Book is BEAUTIFUL!!! Gee Willikers you have changed! I'm so happy for you!
Colette ~ still hoping you will come over and see me sometime soon.
Lou ~ Congratulations on one year! Such progress you have made! Oh boy do I need the plastics too! REAL BAD!! ~ha I been sure have been enjoying that Chi (sp?) Tea... gave some to Debbie Darl'n this week and she liked it as well. Good Stuff!
Jennifer ~ I'm simply thrilled you are doing so much better and got rid of that ole feeding tube! That's the best news EVER!!! Please don't give up on me I still have not forgot the package.
Angie ~ wishing you the very best on your surgery coming up this week... speedy recovery and good results!
Susie ~ have been praying all is going much better in your life and you are seeing some victory in the things you are dealing with! Hope you are able to get the plastics you are wanting too as well.
Jeanine ~ Doll, I was so disappointed I could not come to the last meeting, and a chance to visit with you a bit! I hope you are doing well and seeing success with your surgery!
Jo ~ are you knee deep in any sewing projects right now... a neighbor worked with my machine on the tension and she did a right fine job of getting it to stitch better! I was very thankful for that... I have some good size projects yet to do but looks like now it will have to wait till after the first of the year as I have nearly all my time "sewed up" till then ~ha
It was so nice to by mediums and larges (no X's yea!) My sil gave me so many many nice nice Christopher and Banks clothes... that I will be taking up when I grow under them. Just can't buy that nice of clothes for myself. It makes me thankful that I know how to do a little bit of altering.
Jeanie Rae ~ Wishing you a speedy approval! Hang in there... sometimes it takes alot of perseverance but you will make it!
Sugar ~ What's you been up to? Sorry I missed seeing you when I was down last month... maybe around the holidays? I know you were getting ready to take another trip... how did it go... did you enjoy it?
Marilyn ~ I'm thinking of you too... know you have been thru some trying times. I pray your needs are being met!
Well I will go get my years supply off apples this Tuesday they are all 25 cents a lb. .. even the Fuji's they have been a little higher the past couple of years.
Also have the weekly Beth Moore series I have been going to... getting so much from that! The pastor is starting a 5 weeks serious of studies over a book called, "The Shack" has anyone read that one? Should be interesting I think.
Next week I will see the surgeon for my one year appt. Will get to see Debbie Darl'n again and hopefully spend a bit of time with Peg as well! I have been so incredibly blessed by both these beautiful ladies!!! ...as I have so many others here on the board! I'm so very very thankful for all of you!
Well going to get off here... I know as soon as I close this I will think of another one I did not address.
I pray blessing to each and every one!
Bec
Have you heard from Peggy lately? she came back on the board and started back with her food post and then just quit ...is she ok?
wouldnt it be great if we could just go see everyone as we felt the desire but we all live so far apart that it is hard for us to all get together or to visit ....
sounds like you got some really great buys in clothes at Pennys. I shop online from them at some of their sales and get some good buys sometimes but i hate ordering clothes just never know how they are going to fit from one piece to the other . I ordered two pair of pants from Old Navy they were the same except different colors and were the same size but one pair fits and the other pair looks like they might be size 14s instead of 10s. weird they are labeled 10s but thery arent lol
so now have you stopped your walking so much daily? i am so proud of you that you made that commitment and stuck with it ...i dont think, no i know i couldnt have done that...
yeah we have done a lot of garden work since you have been here . Hopefully you can come down next spring and spend some time ....maybe have a girls weekend in May or something.....
my reblooming iris or some of them are blooming . I have a lot of reblooming ones that i have planted but it takes the right conditions for some of them to rebloom i guess. but the big yellow one and the white ones bloom again in the fall like this yearly,. it is so amazing to see Iris blooming this time of year,. and they will bloom until they have a heavy heavy frost on ......... I dug you up a lot of of the double orange lillys the other day ....that spot where i dug them from is like the little ladies flour bin in the bible that never runs out....the more i dig from them the more there are. i guess the only way i could get them all from there would be to dig and sift to get every last one of the bulbs out and if you miss just one or two you again have an abundance of them soon.
well will talk with you later babe. love you so much and sure wish i could see you more.

GOD BLESS YOU TODAY

Thanks for saving me the day lilies... I am going to be sure and put Preen on them next year as I fought the weeds all summer beings they are spread out pretty much... they sure have room to fill in but then that is a real big bed I have of them... 30 feet long. The double blooming irises sound wonderful!
The girls birthday is coming up here soon so I have a big weekend planned for them... have to get started on preparing for that as well as all the other things I have going on.
No I have not slowed the walking yet... I still have a few days left till I hit the one year mark on the 21st. And that is the day I will see the surgeon. I could say a whole lot about that experience it sure has been a real turning point in my life in more ways than one and I most for sure give every bit of the credit to the Lord that I was able to do it. Ever feel like some things are just supernatural kinda? This kind of tenacity has not been my M~O in the past as far as exercise goes. I have gained so much thru this experience not only physical but spiritual as well..... I have used that time to chat with the Lord and have gained much much much thru it all. I know some thought I was plumb crazy but I sure am not sorry for the time I have spent out there and the good that has come from it... now I would not have told you that on the days I was walking in the blizzards, rain, and when the dogs had made mud balls out of me, or the days I had to still walk when I was bone tired and it was nearly midnight... but over all I have been blessed beyond what I ever would of imagined for sure, and has been a good lesson in surrender and discipline... those two words that have come to be my ever clinging "row to hoe" this past year it seems. ~ha
I have been starting to do the crunches on the ball as I go along but will really change my routine starting next month.
Crystal, my sister and I went to the Taste of Home Cooking School this past week as well as all the other things I have been doing and they had a wonderful Vegetable Chowder they made it was so good. I have made it twice now... I'm going to try it again and put a scoop of unflavored protein powder in it and see if it taste's... don't know if it will work but it's worth a try. I had a bowl the other night when I came in from walking and it was so good... I was FREEZING. Well I finally found something to keep the dogs from jumping on me and it seems to be working pretty good. I got a livestock stick at the farm show and I can just maneuver them dogs around me and make them set down till I can get them all petted! ~ha I only have one now that goes with me every time. He's the scroungiest one of the bunch but he is so faithful and really he lets me know if there is anything around. The horses have started coming to the fences again I wonder if they know it is apple season? ~ha
One day I had someone stop by as I was walking and ask me if I had a home... they said you are out here so much I wondered if you even had a home? Had to laugh at this as some said one of the homeless men we fed this week wa****ting on me... I guess I didn't even know it as I've never had that problem before. ~tee hee They said we was watching you to make sure you were ok. That's just too? funny!!!
I'm sorry you are having troubles with "the routine" of wls being so far out... maybe it's just a "phase"? will be praying it gets easier again as you go along.
I will be interested to see what all my labs say as I've tried very very hard to get all the vits in... I've missed a few doses of the calcium but rarely miss any vits. My downfall is water and I drank like a fish before surgery... just have to force myself to get it all in.
Seems like these raging hormones I have had this year have settled down a bit... or maybe I'm just too busy to allow them any room to make me crazy ~tee hee
Doc took me off the medication for that so will see how it goes... he said it may be why I have lost slower too. We will see if the weight loss picks up again now? Kind of a vicious cycle though as if I loose at the rate I was before I will be back with the same hormone problem... oh well I've had a bit of a break from them maybe I can handle the rest?
Will see the gyno the same day I see the surgeon...not looking too forward to that but need to get myself all taken care of before the end of the year and still have a trip the dentist again this month too... ugh! I'm ready for this Dr. stuff to be over with... just takes up too much time! ~ha
Gotta get ready for church...

I have several things to alter but I've been working on scrapbooking the last couple weeks. This past weekend I had training all day Sat. for Stephans Ministry to not much time for hobbies. I have a really cute denim shirt with dogs and dog items appliqued. I paid $50 on QVC for it a few years ago. It's a 2X so is really, really big on me now. I'm going to take the sleeves out and cut it down because I like it so much.
It's just great fitting into smaller sizes.
