WHATS HAPPENING WEDNESDAY
seems like there are a lot of early spent flowers this year....i know it is earlier about everything else i guess it will be earlier to get the flower beds cleaned and new fresh dirt put down. ....wont cover anything with stra w until we have a good heavy frost. if you make it too early then the little varmits like to nest in there. also you covering too early before the plants have dried some will cause mold and rot...so when the first frost kills back every thing then you cut it all off down to close to ground level then wait and watch till most of the moisture is out of plant , there are usually warmer days again after the first frost , that helps dry out all the stems. elephant ears can be left in the ground but need to be cut back to ground level. and dried several days then i put about 6 inches of straw over them...same with cannas. Do not cover daffidills and tulips as they have to have cold to be able to bloom in the spring.
do any of you have ponds and or fountains? do you keep them running all winter? i have tried to but they always freeze over and that can burn up pumps and they are expensive ...if we were here all winter i would probably try it but since we leave for the winter we take out all the pumps and clean them and mark which pump goes to which pond....ponds that have plants in them are taken out and planted in the bog garden till next spring. , then we clean the ponds out and cover them so they are ready for next spring to refill and get ready to breed new frogs for out big pet black snake that lives here. lol Joe calls him my pet anyway lol
tomorrow morning Joe has to go to the heart institute in Branson for heart test. he has high chlosteral and he told his doctor he was having lots of dizzy spells. so his doctor is sending him there to get checked out. his appointment isnt till 10:30 so he is going to be a bear about being so hungry by the time he gets out of there. please pray that they wont find anything too bad anyway....
today is going to be to get the trailer power washed off. we have to do this every fall. summer time under all of the nice shade trees make for lots of nasty stuff , tree sap and mildew too so all of that will have to be cleaned off.
would love to get a roof system over that so it would eliminate a lot of stuff dripped on it. oh well gives us something to do. right? lol we dont ever have anything to do.
we hope to get the chickens all put into the garden area this week and then get then a new house built that is more accessable for us and relocate their pen next to the garden ...want them to clean up the garden and also fertalize it well for next year.
well post away dear friends i need to go get a coffee and put my protein in there for my first protein drink of the day lol
waiting to hear from you......

Good evening Jan, just read what's happening and want to let you know We will be thinking of you and Joe tomorrow. I'm taking Lloyd (my other half) to pulmonologist tomorrow to see if they can figure out what's going on with his lungs. We've looked up the symptons he is having and kind of think it might be asthma. If that's it it's treatable, I'm hoping it's just a bug he's having a hard time getting rid of and it will just go away some morning he will wake up and not have the problem.
Any way you and Joe are deffinitely in our prayers.
Thank-you for all the support and hope you give all of us.
They called today and moved Joes appointment up to 9am so that is good for him , he will be as hungry as a bear tomorrow by the time he can eat. again thanks for the prayers, i appreciate it. God bless you....Jan

Just wanted you to know that I'll be praying for Joe and his appointment in the morning. I'm glad they moved it up to 9:00am instead of 10:30am. It's hard for our men to go that long without eating. Will be praying they find nothing serious wrong with him. Will be praying for you too. I know as a wife myself that sometimes we take things harder than our husbands do...at least that they show to us. Hope that makes some kind of sense.
Well, it's late and past my bedtime. Please keep us posted. Love you!
