Daily Bible Reading - Saturday September 26rd
Goodness it's Saturday already... hope you all have a blessed weekend, it is thundering here so better get this posted and shut down this puter.
Today's Reading
Isaiah 48:12~50:11
Ephesians 4:17~32
Psalm 69:1~18
Proverbs 24:5~6
Today's Underlines
This is what the Lord says ~ your Redeemer, the Holy One of Israel: I am the Lord you God, who teaches you what is best for you, who directs you in the way you should go. If only you had paid attention to my commands, your peace would have been like a river, your righteousness like the waves of the sea. Boy can I look back and see where if I had listened to what the Lord was telling me I would have had these wonderful outcomes in my life.
Shout for joy, O heavens; rejoice, O earth; burst into song, O mountains! For the Lord comforts his people and will have compassion on his afflicted ones.
...those who hope in me will not be disappointed.
This next verse is a tough one to "live" on a continual basis... I have to really strive to make this one a daily habit and even then find I fail and have to come back and ask forgiveness often:
Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, that it may benefit those who listen. And do not grieve the Holy Spirit of God, with whom you were sealed for the day of redemption. Get rid of all bitterness, rage and anger, brawling and slander, along with every form of malice. Be kind and compassionate to one another, forgiving each other, just as in Christ God forgave you.
Wow this one is probably the toughest verse in all of scripture for me! But oh how thankful that His grace is sufficient while I strive for the "high calling" He has set for me!
This next verse give me even more reason to strive!
May those who hope in you not be disgraced because of me. O Lord, the Lord Almighty; may those who seek you not be put to shame because of me, O God of Israel.
Answer me, O Lord, out of the goodness of your love' in your great mercy turn to me. Do not hide your face from your servant; answer me quickly, for I am in trouble. Come near and rescue me....
Yesterday's Underlines
I urge you to live a life worthy of the calling you have received. Be completely humble and gentle; be patient, bearing with one another in love Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace. Kind of goes along with today's "tough" verse! ~ha
Praise be to the Lord, to God our Savior, who daily bears our burdens.
You are awesome, O God, in your sanctuary; the God of Israel gives power and strength to his people.
Hope you all get some encourament out of these verses today... even though they are the "tougher" ones as far as "living" this life for Him. But are also the ones that will will make our live the most productive for Him?
Have a wonderful blessed day!
