I'm still here!

Had my RNY on Monday morning. Had a few complications with the mesh that was used on my hernia repair back in 2002. Ended up taking over 4 hours to get everything done...Dr. Price said that I was supposed to be classic textbook, not a whole day's work!  I really didn't come out of sedation until about midnight that night and then I started having ice chips and got myself up to the bathroom. My heart rate was staying in the 130s at rest and was going higher when I got up, so they kept me down those first couple days and gave me TONS of fluids (like 8  bags). I came home Wednesday evening and had some "real" food today...pureeed soup and applesauce.  It was yummy! Still in quite a bit of pain in places that he says are mostly from where he had to maneuver that mesh. 

I'm doing ok....still on pain meds most of the time, got up and showered today and a friend of mine came to visit this afternoon.  I walked this evening over to my mom' s and back.

Thanks for all your prayers and well wishes! I will try to get caught up on the boards over the next few days when I can keep my eyes open.

wow bless your heart you have been thru the wringer havent you? but you are home now and doing better all the time....take care of yourself and do as Dr. Price tells you to do....get in lots of fluids and walk and and sip and walk ....

Sorry you had some problems but sounds like you are doing fine now. 

You are in for such pleasure ahead.
