HELP!!! Nauseated 1 wk out
Had WLS last Friday. It took about 4 hrs instead of the usual 1 1/2 hrs due to a lot of scar tissue. Starting on Sat, could not keep
even water down. Keep trowing up brown stuf and had a bubble
in throat that burned. Was given nausea meds but didn't help.
Was released Monday and we stayed 1 more nite in motel. Next
Morning Hubby went out bought gas x strips and they helped tremendously. Still does but still trowing up. See Dr tomorrow
for followup. No pains from surgery just nausea and barffing. Any suggestions.
It is probably a good thing that you are going in to see the dr. soon!
I know after I had my surgery I had some bouts of incredible nausea that made me WISH that I could of thrown up. I DID pass bloody stools for about 1 week later. My dr. told me that there is some passage of blood to be expected from the internal cutting and rewiring of our digestive systems....
I didn't look at your profile before I started typing this...did you have open or LAP? When someone is operated on LAP they have to use gas to pump your abdominal cavity so that they can see what they are doing while operating. They try to get all the gas out but unfortunately alot of times they cannot. It can cause some intense pain especially when it migrates up into your shoulder area.....
When you drink your water you might work with it and try it at different temps. Some can tolerate it cold and others cannot. You might need to play around and see what sits better. For me, I could NOT tolerate regular water. It made me incredibly ill..... so I got the SF Crystal lights and mixed them with my water. It seemed to do the trick.
Hang in there and let us know what you find out....
