Feeling FULL? Oooh, and Matrix protein, YUM!

Ok, here I am a little over 2 weeks post op.  I am eating lo carb yogurt, cream of wheat, potatoe soups, mashed potatoes, etc.  I hate to say that I very rarely feel full.  I eat slow, small bites, but that does not seem to matter.

My "theory" is that these foods are so thin, they are passing through and not filling me up?  Those foods have protein, maybe just not as much as I need to be full.

Did anyone else experience that after surgery?

BTW - I did have some REALLY good protein today, Matrix cookies and cream mixed with skim milk, it was REALLy good!!  Anyone else try that one?   It did make me feel full.

Thanks!

John,
Honestly your new tummy doesn't know "full" yet so you will eventually get a full feeling and when you get an "over full" feeling you'll really know it - can you say barf???
You have done so well - keep up the good work.

Also, at this point, it could be 'head hunger' and not true physical hunger. That's very common in new post-ops. :)

What everyone said is most likely true along with a bit of your theory.  During surgery nerves are cut and/or seriously peeved off.  It takes awhile for the full effect (nerve wise) of getting complete sensation back in your tummy area.

Trust me, like the others said, when you suddenly get that feeling of "oh my why did I take that one last little bite"....you will realize that things are indeed working the way that they are supposed to.

Some folks get sick (yes actually will throw up) or a combination of the foamies along with...  it is not pleasant at all but you soon learn when to stop and what will work with your new tummy!

Good to hear that you found a protein that is working well for you...  it is not uncommon in the early phases of massive weightloss to be in a form of ketosis that literally makes everything taste vile....  you will hear folks complain of the horrid taste in their mouth all the time.  It is usually from the ketosis and it wrecks havoc with you trying to eat or stay hydrated.  Glad to know that something is working for you though!

Way to go!

Anything WORTH having is WORTH working for !
