WHATS HAPPENING MONDAY LABOR DAY

Lol how funny , we got up this morning to go pick up all the rest of the garage sale and there was hardly anything left. They had picked it almost clean....all the left overs fit in a medium size cardboard box  good good ...that is so great .

 

Beautiful day today. No rain here , will be glad when the week end is over , and our quite area down here gets nice and quite again. kids were shooting off fireworks last night , but they do quit by 12 so at least they are fairly respectful about it. There was a group of them a few years ago that were horrible teen agers. They would keep yelling and riding up and down the roads on the 4 wheelers and  bikes etc  until someone would yell at them that if they didn’t quiten down they were going to call the cops. Of course by the time the cops got down here they could be  sound asleep by then.

 

Not a lot of other stuff going on today  picked all the okra that was ready in the garden. No squash yet on the spag. Squash. I do have 3 butternut squash that are growing.  And I have a couple of cantalopes that are about ready , the cucumbers are blooming that I planted about 3 weeks ago. The beets I have up and are about 3 or 4 inches tall now...dont know if they will get big enough to use by the time it frost or not.

I planted some turnips but I don’t see them coming up ...oh well I don’t know where in the world I would put them to keep them over the winter lol

 

Barb hey did I start something lol ....got you eliminating everything too huh....that was a lot of stuff wasn’t it.  hope you got a good amount of money out of your stuff. ...i have never been to an auction house. Don’t know if there is any around here or not. ...

Cant wait to see you on Wednesday....sure hope that Peggy and Debbie are coming too.

 

 

 

Jo im like you where in the world did the summer go? I have been so all fired busy this summer that we didn’t get to do anything of what we wanted to do. we intended to  go for rides on the trike a lot this summer and it didn’t happen....but since we put in the garden this year it took so much time.

How is your vacation going? I sure was hoping that you would get to Sedalia on Wednesday....would so love to meet you.

That is how Joe and I do for Christmas presents we buy something nice that we want and for the house.  A couple of years ago we  bought a flat screen digital tv ...we really like it im sure you will too. there is so much difference in what you see ...we looked first at a Plasma tv but didn’t like the way the image seemed to burn into the screen after leaving it paused for a small amount of time. so we took it   back and go the LED Hd flat screen...and we love it.

 

 

Good Morning...

Went out to walk this morning and come in soaking wet from the FOG for pete's sake! Hair limp as a dish rag and dripping.

Been real busy the past few days, working inside and outside.  Getting some fall decorations out, just general cleaning, worked in the garage too, cleaned out the deep freeze, just regular ole life... and not the best part of it either! ~tee hee  Want to make a fall arrangement on my porch this evening and need to scrub out the fountain... a squirrel drowned in there and now there is a small mole in there!  Goodness it's a death trap! ~ha  Have not had much in there till recently... a couple lizards but other than that not much... don't know why now?

Have to have Paul bring the tractor with the bucket over and move some tubs to the back for the winter... just need to do some general cleaning up out there.

Am looking forward to Mimi and Joe coming to stay over tomorrow night and then seeing whom ever can make it to Golden Corral on Wednesday at 11:00 a.m.  Seems like a long time since we have had a get together.

Good morning!  What an AWESOME weekend!  That concert was amazing.  I'm a HUGE rap fan, its funny but true.  Gage and I had a blast.  It was like going to the biggest party ever.  Everyone was having fun and hanging out just like you knew people for years.  Good times for sure.  We hit the Osage Beach mall on the way back.  My Coach purse that I bought a month ago, the strap broke while on this trip so I was hoping they would hook me up with another one even without my receipt and they did.  They didn't have the one I bought so I was forced to get one of the new fall collection...I was really sad about that haha yeah right.  Gage found some shirts at Calvin Klein and I bought some size 12 jeans there! YAY!  We got back @ 3 yesterday and I was so tired.  We were up pretty much all night Sat. So today is going to be doing a whole lot of nothing!  Everyone is still in bed, I'm thinking that's not sounding so bad right now.  I hope everyone has a wonderful day! I just love to stroll around the outlet malls.  Good that you were able to get a new bag.

 We had a wonderful but short weekend visit with my son and his girlfriend. We approve 100%. No news on any  upcoming events with them so for now we are just happy they are together. DH really wants grandkids but I am in no hurry.
We went to Silver Dollar City on Sat. and got caught in the rain but I think they had a good time. I just wish we had more time with them. It seems like everyone is moving double time and we never have time to just relax and enjoy.
I saw part of a show on tv last night about the end of the world. It was about Dec 21,2012. They had preachers and prophesies. If it happens then we don't have much time left .We should be enjoying life more and not working so hard.

Jan, it's good you didn't have a lot of stuff left over.  We sometimes put things out at the curb and they disappear right away.  I work with a woman that is always picking up things left at the curb.

I'm really enjoying my vacation.  Our dinner went well last night.  I fixed a big skiillet of potatoes ad only had a very small dish left over.  The chicken was delicious.  I used McCormick's dry seasoning mix.  You mix it with water and oil and let it marinate.  The kids and Max all like the dark meat so I have the chicken breasts left.  I never eat the dark meat....yuk.  The cheesecake was good but I like my Paula Deen recipe I make using Splenda much better. 

Saturday I cooked beans in the pressure cooker.  It said 20 minutes if the beans hadn't been soaked.  After 20 minutes, the beans were still hard as bullets.  I cooked them another 30 minutes and they were perfect so we have beans and ham leftovers for this week too.

We're headed out to Bass Pro Shop this morning.  It may be crowded with it being Labor Day.  It's only about 7 miles away so we can always go back.  Then we're going to Kmart to put the TV in layaway.  They also have an MP3 player I want.  Max thinks he needs one so I'm going to give him the one I have.  The new one has a screen.  Not sure it's big enough for me to actually see anything on it.
