Job’s friends keep telling him that he has sinned and is being punished for it but Job still insists to his friends they are wrong, that he is innocent and we all know Job is innocent.  He still stands by God but insists on meeting God, meeting his judge, in the last few books of Job we’ll see God finally speak up, it’ll be interesting to see what God has to say to Job.  I’d sure like to be there to see the look on Job’s friends face when God speaks to Job.  I wonder what went through their heads when they finally find out Job really is innocent, what an encouragement it is to watch Job be unmoved in his stand.

***Bec*** I think wisdom has come out in almost every book of the bible so far, in one way or another.  Do you think God is trying to tell us something about wisdom?  I’m sure we haven’t seen the last on wisdom by far.  Oooohhh thank you for sharing that verse of scripture again, I had forgotten about that when Peggy posted that, that’s another one that is going up around the house, that’s sooo good!  Like you Bec, I still LOVE food too and am struggling with that, that verse will help a lot to remind me just how much I truly can endure because sometimes we think we just can’t take anymore when in fact we can, which reminds me of the verse of scripture that says God wont put on us anything that we cannot handle, my goodness.

Daily Devotional

Psalm 56:8, NLT

"You keep track of all my sorrows. You have collected all my tears in Your bottle. You have recorded each one in Your book"

Do you know how important you are to God? He cares so much about every detail of your life. He cares about your thoughts, feelings, and emotions. In fact, what you are going through is so important to Him that He records every sorrow and collects every tear you've shed. Why would God record your sorrows and collect your tears? It's because He loves you so much. He is your Vindicator. He's keeping account of every wrong that's ever been done to you so that He can make up for every single one of them. He wants to restore everything that has ever been stolen. He wants to heal every single hurt and pain. He sees the longings and desires of your heart, and you can rest assured that behind the scenes He is working things out for your good!

I want to remind you today that God is with you. He is on your side. He has your best interest at heart, and He is working to bring restoration and peace to every area of your life. Keep standing, keep believing, and keep doing the right thing because the One who collects your tears will restore every broken place in your life!

A Prayer for Today:

"Heavenly Father, thank You for loving me and setting me free. Thank You for being my Vindicator. I choose to release every hurt, pain and sorrow, knowing that You will make all things new. In Jesus' Name. Amen."

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Good Morning Andy...

I have to think how Elihu... went into that big spiel about how the "Almighty" had given him all that "understanding" even though he was young and how Job should set up and take listen ... wow!  I'm like you wonder how all those "friends" felt when the truth came out!  There is a lot to think about in this story... much to consider from many sides... I need to study it would good.

As we was talking about wisdom I thought I would look it up:

  • Main Entry: wis·dom
  • Pronunciation: \ˈwiz-dəm\
  • Function: noun

1 a : accumulated philosophic or scientific learning : knowledge b : ability to discern inner qualities and relationships : insight c : good sense : judgment d : generally accepted belief 2 : a wise attitude, belief, or course of action
3 : the teachings of the ancient wise men

Andy will have to ask Paul about that song about "coming forth as pure gold"... I can just barely remember it... maybe he knows what it is?

The verse from Peg came from a sermon her Pastor preached... don't think it was scripture as best as I can remember it was just something that stuck out to her at the time and has stuck in my mind every since she passed it on... especially when it comes to food as that seems to have been the biggest thing in my life this past year... dealing with it that is... I am striving desperately to deal with all my "issues" concerning it at this time.  Looking if there could be any other reasons I have "issues" that could contrib to my feelings and actions towards it...that's tough!  But the Lord is blessing me through it all.

Hope you have a wonderful day...

bec
