Have any of you tried the magic jack ? was wondering if it is any good. it sounds too good to be true ....

I guess I am behind the times with wondering about it huh? Lol

Im just so tired of paying such high prices for phone services.  If that would work for here at home then we could eliminate the cell phones and get only one with pre pay . 80 dollars a month is just way too much for cell phones.

I have been searching for cheaper insurance too. for our houses we own and the truck and the trike is 2100.00 year...isnt that stupid? Just looks like they are going to stick it to us no matter what ...

 Wow this weather is really something isn’t it? is suppose to be down to 48 Sunday night:? That is pretty cool you know. I cant believe it is being this cool  at this time of year. I wonder if it will go back to being hot before long. ? the farmers almanac says it is going to be cooler than normal. And wetter than normal in Sept and Oct. they predict  that there will be an early early frost. That could be weird. Oh well who knows what will really happen, Only God knows no one else.

 

I want to welcome Missy to the losers .... we will be waiting to hear how she is doing.

 

Oh boy it is sure good to see our Peggy back among the living . welcome home sweet little one. Hope you are feeling better as well as Mark. He just couldn’t let you have the spotlight alone could he? Lol ..i hope his hand heals well.

 

 

Susie: so what would you do with yourself if you quit work ? lol  it would probably take a while to figure it out ...i know it did me. I felt so lost after working all those years. But once I figured out what I wanted to really sink into I don’t have time to work anymore lol

Too busy planting this and that and building this and that for my flowers to grow on and in, and no matter how hard I work at any of this I never get tired of doing it. even now as things are starting to wind down im thinking and wondering what all I will need next year for my flowers and garden. I know on the garden part this year has been a learning experience about what will grow well and what not to plant .and what I need more of. ...\

 

Bec, ohhhh ouch how does the mouth feel this morning? I remember when I had to have all of mine pulled oh my lord I was in a lot of pain...but I was in a lot of pain with them too. I would take a bottle of Excedrin with me to work and would have to buy more the next morning. I was almost eating them like candy to keep the pain half way down. I worked as a desk clerk at Holiday Inn and I needed to keep a smile going but it sure wasn’t easy.

Some of my lattice board is going up  in between the poles of the pagado...i am thinking we might even make that into a hot tub spot. We really need one again for both Joe and I. and you can find some good bargains . and this would be nice and close to the house.

Yeah I remember that is what you had for your last supper huh? I had two of them the other day but I only eat a tiny bit of the crust and open then up and eat the cream cheese and crab meat out of them lol . I know how you love cream cheese. Have you had any ragoons since surgery?

Isn’t this weather wonderful for working outside and for walking too if I could do it. I am calling the ortho guy Monday and getting an appointment...i swear I am. Then I can get out walking again. and maybe get some more of this weight off. Or at least some of the flab.

I used one of the tubs I had left over yesterday to wash out my seed planters ...i got them all clean now I need to soak them in some bleach water today to make sure all the dirt devils are gone lol ....then I need to sit down and make out my seed order for next year.

I have always bought my seeds from Parks and have always had good luck with them  but last year hardly any of my seeds I got from them came up  don’t know if it was their seeds or maybe something in my planters....anyway that is why im using the bleach water this year and then before I plant anything in them in Feb I will soak them again in bleach water ....

 

 

Susan  are you off work on the 9^th? Was wondering if you are going to try and go to Sedalia to meet up with Bec and hopefully several others that are coming . will be a good chance for you and Andy to see some people that you haven’t seen in a long time...

I bet that pool isn’t feeling quite as good now is it? does he close it down after labor day?

 

 

Jo  yeah I get excited over plants  and things for my garden always....i guess each one of us have our things we get excited about.   I bet you are a great cook too aren’t you?

I wish I were good at cooking and sewing . I can cook but most of it is just plain ole cooking. You and Bec have that in common she is a great cook. She is good about tweaking recipes  with adding this or that . if I leave something out of something it is because I didn’t have it and I already had everything else mixed together lol most of the time it all comes out.

 

Sandy have you tried the 18 hour Playtex? They don’t have spag straps and they are 3 hooks and they do a good job of holding all of our withered skin all in one spot.  

A 36 C is really a hard size to find too.

I know what you mean about hiding our bodies...i have a lot of trouble wearing my shirts in ...i just feel like that is still my worst spots , right around in the middle and I hate how it makes me still feel. With my eyes I can see that it doesn’t look too bad and if I stand up really really straight and tall I look pretty good. but that is one of my problems too is that I was mashed down for so long with that excesss weight that I have difficulty really standing tall and straight. I keep working on my core muscles thinking that will eventually have to help but so for not much.

Jan just the other day on Good Morning America they did a piece on some infomercial products and Magic Jack was one of them.  The reviews were on it were good and they said it actually works like they advertise.  You can call all over the U.S. for that low price of $20 a year, plus you can make international calls for like .02 cents a min or something.  Here are a couple links to some forums you can read what others think about it, most are good, there's a few that dont like it.  Hope this helps.

good morning everyone.hope you all are having a good weekend soo far.the weather sure is going to be nice for a few day's.they are saying down to 49 by monday morning.will feel like fall for sure.

jan regular cell phone's do cost too much.everything does any more.i do not know yet if i am off the 9 of sept or not.we have one girl who will be leaving soon because she is pregant,she work's day's and take's my place sometime's when i am off.we sure would like to come if i am.how is your truck?did you all get it fixed.

peggy sure is good to see you back here on the board.the liquid diet is soo much better when you have someone to go on it with you.

jo how is your woman's cave?did you get any sewing started yet?some thing's i want to do i save for my day's off work.it sure does feel good to get into a smaller size.there are some thing's in my closet i had in there for a long time could not wear them and went to put them on wore them once or twice and now they are too big.

sandy i know what you mean by trying to get a bra to fit.i have all this extra skin every where and now i have to try and hide it.sound's like your garden is keeping you busy.how is your dad.

 I love weekends. I am going to be working every day for six weeks at least. I have had the middle school and elementary call me but had to say no. I am booked in Feb, already at the elementary. I was worried I wasn't going to work much. LOL. I know I will be glad on payday even though it will be a small payday. The district is a poor one and the pay is sad. At least its something.

Good morning OH friends! ;)  Went to a high school football game with some friends last night.  It was a great action packed game and is it me or do the coaches get cuter and younger every year.     Today I'm meeting a friend for su****hen we are going out with some friends tonight for dinner and a movie. 

Jan, when I do taxes at Jackson Hewitt alot of people told me they have the magic jack.  The only thing is the number is an out of town #.  Like this one couple that lived here their area code was St. Louis.  But other than that  they loved it. 

Susan and Andy you both look so good!  I can't wait to see you in September!  Don't make me come down to Forsyth and get you two. ;)

Susie: you crack me up with your onsie.  I've been telling my friends we need to come up with a spanks that looks like a wet suit, you know covers your head and all LOL

I have a Magic Jack I have had for about a year now. I call my family in Florida and Texas anytime I want. It is great!!! I just renewed for 5 years. If you want to use it as a home phone you will need to leave the computer up and running all the time. When the computer is down it will take messages or you can transfer the calls to your mobil phone. I highly recommend it. This is really the first commercial I have seen that does everything it says it does.

Went to my Grandson's first football game last night, he is a sophmore. They won 46 to 7, what a blow out. I felt sorry for the other team. It was a good game, kept you on your feet, it wasn't that the other team was so bad, we were just really on last night. Great defense!

Have a little league game to go to today that my youngest granddaughter is a cheer leader for the team. Then a bithday party for a great nephew turning 3 tonght then tomorrow a baby shower at 3.
Busy, busy weekend.

I watch the board everyday just not much time to respond. I have everyone in my prayers for all your needs.

Jan, when you ask about Magic Jack, my first thought was wonder what that is, I've never seen that recipe.  Do I have a one track or what??  Both of us have a cell phone and I get a discount thru my employer.  Our monthly bill is about $60 but as soon as the contract runs out, we're not renewing.  Just don't use if enough.  We will get a pay as you go phone.  We have phone service with AT&T and also have our TV and computer with them. 

Sandy, I have found the Playtex bras are very comfortable.  I also have 3 I got off Ebay and are sold on QVC.  It's nice to be comfortable in your bra.  For years I was always adjusting it.

Bec, how's the mouth feeling today?  Hope you're doing okay.

Lou, if you lived close by I would be happy to share with you.  I do love to cook and experiment.  My SD lives close but her family wouldn't appreciate some of the healthy things I make.  They do enjoy cookies and other desserts I make but since I don't eat them I don't make them very often.  A few weeks ago I made cookies with Fiber One.  I was going to give her some but my husband said he didn't thing they would care for them.

Tonight I'm baking a Crab Meat Puff.  If it's good I will post the recipe.  It has 2 tablespoons of flour so that should be okay.  I'm also going to fix Oriental Zuchinni and Onions.  Breakfast was Carbquick Blueberry Pancakes and ham.  Hubby ate 3 pancakes so they must have been good.  They are a little different texture than regular pancakes but I liked them.  I've frozen the leftovers for breakfast during the week. 

I have a ton of alterations to do for me.  So many tops that are too big and just running a seam up the sides they will fit.  No need to buy new ones.  I remember when I couldn't button my blouses and always a T-shirt or tank top under them.  Now the blouses button and are too big.  I'm still not used to wearing things that really fit close to the body.  All my life I've worn lose fitting tops to cover up my fat.

Yesterday I looked at myself in a full length mirror and just stood there smiling.  Anyone seeing me would have thought I lost it for sure.

Weather is great.  The AC is off and windows open.

Good afternoon Aunt Jan and OH Peeps,

Well, Yesterday IS the reason I have issues with a lot of the doctors I have to deal with nowadays.

He was good WITH Jon-but didnt want to listen to Jons mom (me).......I told him that I believed Jon had the UTI and WHY.....and He proceeded to tell me they are rare in 6 yr old boys and that it is more or less a "learned behavior" BUT....he would do a urine culture to RULE IT OUT........ok. Jon also had a severe (almost ruptured) right ear drum. He then stated that most ear infections will resolve themselves, but because his was so bad-he was a candidate for antibiotics - and then I asked about the drops you can put in there to numb it-because the herbal ones I had-werent working AT ALL and Thurs night, we only got 1.5 hrs of sleep the whole night. Good grief. Now-I am thinking to myself I have 4 children, Jon is my baby and none of my kids EVER go to the doc unless they are sick and NONE have ever had these issues and been ignored-which is WHY I had my children going to MY PCP-because he listened to me and knew I didnt bring them in for no reason etc etc. This guy is A huge dork-big clownish bow tie and all (not kidding). Ok...  So-he says that Jon has to pee in the cup-and then the nurse tells me to go back in the room and we have to wait for the dr-BECAUSE: She did the initital test on his urine and guess what? OH YAH......Just like mom said- something IS WRONG......Hmmmmmm....... So now I am waiting for the dumb A** to come back in so I can give him the I told you so riot act cuz I am angry that I wasnt listened to-I tried to tell mr know it all that MY child doesnt hang out in the bathroom for 2 hrs, crying because his junk keeps telling him he has to go-he has toooooo much going on! Thats when he told me that its a learned behavior and how rare it is-not that it could happen-he totally discounted it....... so-anyway, the nurse tells me that we have to wait for the doc now since he has the UTI etc etc..... so we go back in the room to wait and guess what?

Dr. Chicken little wouldnt come in and face me-instead... He sent the nurse back in! LOL......after discussing with her the fact that I wanted to make sure that the antibiotic that Jon was givin for his ear would work for his UTI- thats when we left. On the way out-I explained to the nurse and the receptionist that I wanted the boys switched to the other doc in the office that wasnt in yesterday. That was it. If he wasnt willing to listen to me, its not the right fit for my family.

So we started his meds-after him being sick all day yesterday-he threw up almost everything he ate-but we got home, and I gave him the jello I made and some pudding and it stayed down-so later I gave him some chicken noodle soup. Its been going better since. I got almost 3 hrs of sleep last night. He got more-but when he would move around, I would wake up. We did have to use the drops in his ear before he was able to fall asleep. They worked, thank goodness! Thanks to everyone saying prayers for the little man. I appreciate them.

Jan-yes its going to be 2 weeks, but I TRUST this GYN and she WONT mess around.......like everyone else has-so its all good! Im very pleased. I will let you know what happens. I cant wait to be out of pain either, believe me....LOL......this female thing is ruining me! Its kicking my butt-big time.

Bec-saying prayers that all went okay at the dentist. Check in when you can and let us know.

Happy Saturday All...

Thank you all for the "sympathies" about my tooth... good and bad news about it... the bad: I now have at least four more trips to the dentist!!!  Ugh!

The good new is I have 100% coverage!  The doc talked me into having the worst one crowned so he built it up and put the kind of filling in that needs to be... another good thing is I didn't have to have a root canal which I would NOT have done! I go next Friday for him to do the prep work and take a casting of the tooth and then back in three weeks to have it put on... in the mean time I will see the hygienist...  I was so scared when I got there that I nearly shook out of the chair... he gave me a couple of sedatives to take for my next appt. and told me to be sure and take them! I felt like a fool... but I couldn't stop shaking for the life of me... the dentist I had for years was rough as a cob and I HATED to go see him... I should of changed years ago but just never did... this fella was much nicer and understanding that's for sure....  this crown is $705 I'm so thankful that my insurance covers it 100%... what a blessing that is!  So I will be a good girl and take my sedatives before I go next Friday and hopefully it won't be so traumatic...

I had a TERRIBLE episode of low blood sugar this morning, I had only made it to the next door neighbors... was standing there talking to her and all of a sudden it hit... it scared the wee right out of me!  I had not been having my shake before I walk since I was going so early in the mornings... but I sure will from now on... that is the closest I have come to picking myself right up off the ground!  I felt simply terrible... I will have to be more careful! Now I feel like a truck has run over me!  Oh well...

Susan ~ it would be great if you and Andy could come on the 9th but I know it is so so so far.  I chuckled when you told me not to "wear out the carpet"  boy that gets Paul going when I walk inside...~tee hee

Mimi~ if you get a hot tub ~ don't know if we would ever get you out of it! ~ha  I don't remember if I have had any "real" crab rangoon's since surgery... if I have they must not have given me any troubles... and I sure haven't for months and months and months....  You are right this weather is FAB!  I'm going to wash my containers with bleach too when I clean them out...

Shannon ~ sorry about the chest pain... I sure hope there is not anything seriously wrong!  I have that fitting size trouble you spoke about too because if is very very hard to find "-A x-long"! Yep it's that bad!

Barb ~ oh I can't wait to see you on Sept. 9th... I hope nothing gets in your way of coming!

Jo ~ I have a lot of altering that could be done too... if I could just get motivated... I have several pieces that are worth altering too.
