Got my date!

Got my date today..September 21st!!  Start my liquids on the 7th and have all my pre-op testing and final Dr visit on the 9th.  So..I won't be able to make it to Sedalia that day, but will be attending support group in KC that night.

I am nervous and scared, but I know these things are normal and I'm sure will get worse as the day gets closer.  I know this is what I want though and what I need...and I just try to remember all the things I want out of life once I get to the other side.  I'm excited to play with my kids and not be winded and to sit in a booth and not be uncomfortable.  It's going to be a whole new life!

My husband is supportive, but my extended family really isn't.  Everyone has the "why don't you just diet?" mentality and no matter what I say, they don't understand.  This was MY choice and I made the decision that NOW is the time for this.  I'm excited.

Look forward to getting to know you all better and supporting each other in this journey.

Cassy

Cuongratulations girl ....we understand about not getting to be in Sedalia on the 9th that is a lot more important and there will be other chances to meet  up with some of us here and there...
it is normal to be nervous and scared. i dont really think i was too badly because i thought to myself  it was a win-win situation:    I could die and go to heaven and get a new body or wake up from surgery and be on my way to getting a new body lol
when you start your liquid diet the 2 or 3 day will be the worst. your body will be getting rid of toxins that you have from eating carbs and such and you may have headache, and feel just  bad but hang on you can make it over that hump ..the diet before surgery is the hardest part of this process i think....be sure and get in lots of protein and lots of water. the diet is to shrink your liver so they can do the surgery lap. makes it easier for them to get around in there.
we are here if you need something so ask away.....
