Hi Everyone,

I joined the OH in 07, planned on trying for surgery, but after talking to my DR. about the surgery and complications, decided to try losing on a diet again. It worked for awhile but after I quit the diet, which was basically low carb, OH GOD I LOVE CARBS, gained all the weight I lost back again.

Now that St. Johns in Springfield is medicare certified I'm gonna try again. going to a Seminar asap. Don't know yet if I want the lapband or bypass. guess I'll decide that later. Right now I have to take the first step and get started. It's really scary but I have to do something and the sooner I get the ball rolling the better I'll feel.

Just wanted to come back and read the posts and get as much possitive feed back as possible.

you sound so much like i did before surgery , i told myself well if i eat like they do after surgery then i wont have to have the surgery lol as we know it doesnt work.  we dont have the ability to eat small enough amounts without thesurgery....i went back and forth between the lap band and RNY but finally decided on RNY since i knew i didnt have much control on what i ate or how much....especially carbs and sugar. it is possible to eat those with the band and i knew i needed more control that that. ....anyway welcome back , check out the pluses and minuses of both surgeries and then decide for yourself ok ....Hopefully you can come to our meeting on the 24th of the Circle of Friends....St. Johns also has meetings. but you can come to both lol ....

Thank-you Jan for the feed back. This is the hardest decision ever. I'm going to start my diet history, my god I don't know if I can remember all the diets, but one step at a time.

Thank-you again and I'm going to try to use all of the help I can find on this board. I've read so many success stories that it gives me a sort hope that I need.
