So...had my RNY on 6/25, since my pre-op diet I've lost 57 lbs. So far, I'd been loosing like 6-8lbs per week...and since 7/29 I haven't lost anything? Is it normal to plateau this early?

it evidently is normal for you.....so how much protein are you getting in a day....this and water shold be your only thoughts about what you are putting in your mouth at this stage...and it wont hurt you to be getting 80 grams or so of protein powder or drinks ....not counting what food you are getting....and water....at least 64 oz now the big one . what are you doing for exercise???
if you have lots of joint pain....go over and do water aerobics with Sugar ....she is really faitfull about going and she could inspire you.....oh for your question....a lot of people plateau around 6 weeks or 2 months....just keep pushing on getting in what i said and you will jump back on that losing band wagon  if you measured yourself when you first started you may measure yourself now and see how amazing it is in the inches you have lost. wow

Hi Tressa!  It sounds like you're doing great!  You know your body will loose and then stop and regroup if you will.  You will notice that you loose inches.  I know I would rather see the scale move.  But your body has to figure out why all the sudden you are starving it and it wants to fight it, but in the end it will loose.  I know some weeks I would loose 8 ozs.  Then then next week 3-4 lbs.  But then I would also notice that my pants would be looser.  You body is saying what in the hell has she gone and done. ;)  Don't worry honey it will kick back in, its just taking a break.  Keep up the good work!  I missed you at the meeting! Hope to see you soon.  Lou ;)

You seem to be doing great, I had lost only about 30 by the same time. Everyone is different and loses at different rates. Just follow the doctors advice and expect to have some stalls. They may last a month or more or you may never have one. Just try to keep the protein and fluids where they should be.
