Daily Bible Reading - Tuesday August 4th
Starting in Corinthians this morning. Corinthians is a really good book and full of knowledge. Paul starts off with greetings and then right away he goes into thanking God. Paul even thanks God for the things to come, thanking Him in advance. That’s how we should be also. Being thankful for what God has done in our lives and what He is doing is so important. God loves a thankful heart and it really helps us also. When one of your children comes to you and is so thankful towards you, it makes you feel good doesn’t it? Just imagine how our God feels when we are thankful towards Him.
In the devotional this morning it’s telling us to hope against all hope. When a situation looks dim or impossible, keep on hoping and believing. God had told Abraham he would be the father of many nations, to Abraham this looked impossible but he kept on hoping and believing and as we all know it came to pass. Just like us, if we keep on hoping and believing that whatever situation we are facing will work out then it will. God has a plan and purpose for everything, even when we can’t see how it will work out, it will. The bible says “Faith is the substance of things HOPED for, the evidence of things not seen". When we have the hope that it’s going to be alright, that’s our faith kicking in. Keep picturing that situation resolved. Keep hoping and believing that it will come to pass and it will be resolved. Maybe not as quick as we would like but like I said, God has a plan and purpose for us all. I’m really speaking for myself and the situations we are facing. I know God has a plan and purpose for everything He has brought us through so far so I just keep hoping and believing, knowing soon it is all going to work out for His glory and honor. God is such an amazing God.
***Jan*** I truly believe God has the perfect person for your rental, He will send that person across your path some way somehow. I know what you mean about having negative thoughts, I’ve been there, just recently myself and I know it doesn’t do us any good, in fact it just gets us further into the problems as you said. Keep on hoping and believing, let your faith take over, you’ll see it all work out and we’ll hear you shouting the victory.

Romans 4:18
"Against all hope, Abraham in hope believed and so became the father of many nations, just as it had been said to him…"
Do you feel like you are in a hopeless situation today? Is there no sign of change in the natural? Remember, we serve a supernatural God. What looks impossible with man is possible with God.
In the Bible, God told Abraham he would be the father of many nations. But in the natural, this looked impossible. Both he and his wife were beyond child-bearing years. They had no reason to hope or believe it would happen. They had nothing to go on in the natural. But one translation of this verse says, "Hoping in spite of hopeless cir****tances, he believed." And you probably know the story. Abraham finally had a son, Isaac and his son, Jacob had 12 sons—the twelve original tribes of Israel with descendants outnumbering the grains of sand on the shore!
Today, I encourage you to do what Abraham did and go against all the odds; hope on in faith anyway. Keep believing. Keep praying. Keep moving forward. Don’t focus on the impossible cir****tances, focus on the God who makes the impossible possible! Keep looking through your eyes of faith because He has blessing and victory in store for you!
A Prayer for Today: Heavenly Father, today I choose to hope in You even when everything around me looks hopeless. I invite You to breathe Your life into the impossible cir****tances around me. Have Your way in and through me as I dedicate every part of my heart and mind to You. In Jesus´ Name, Amen.
Because I am behind I have been reading diligently for the past few days... as much as I can till my brain has to just stop and try and absorb what all I have read...
As I was reading I have been underlining the things I want to go back and take another look at... this scripture is one that I underlined and it just so happens to go so nicely with what is being said today...
Romans 12:12
Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer.
Doesn't that just about sum it up? We are to be happy we have a hope... it will help us be patient in our trials while we are praying to the one that we know can do something about it!
Love it!
Goodness there is so much "instruction" in Romans! Meaty stuff! Way to important to just pass on over... at least as my mind can comprehend it...~ha
Mimi ~ know I'm praying about your rental situation.
Andy ~ am also praying for yours and Susan's situations....
Just know the God we serve is mindful of these things and will answer as He knows best!
Great Blessings to All,
Bec
