Paperwork submitted to insurance today!

I got an email from the surgery coordinator at Dr. Price's today....my paperwork was submitted to the insurance company today.  One step closer....praying for approval!! 

BCBS said that it would take 3 weeks....does it usually take that long or is that just what they say to cover their rear?  I've read that some people call to find out....should I do that and if so, when? Did you all just wait it out and wait for the letter??

I'm ready..so ready!

I have BCBS of California and I'm sure all companys are different. But it took like a weekto get approved.  I did call, but you don't want to talk to whom ever answeres the phone you want to talk to your case manager.  If you ask the person that answers the phone they can tell you your case managers name and then ask to be connected to thier office.  I asked the girl that answered the phone and she said I was denied, I couldn't believe it.  So I talked to the case manager and he said no its approved and was getting ready to mail out the letter but it took like a week to get the letter so I gave his # and info to the insurance girl at the dr. office and she called him and they faxed the approval right over.  Hopefully yours will go faster than 3 weeks and I think it will.  I would give it a few days then start calling.  Good luck to ya! ;) Lou
