***UPDATE ON ME***

I havent been able to be on here for some time... I am down 140 lbs and now beginning to wonder about plastic surgery... i am wondering who has researched plastic surgeons and what process you did to research them? I am wanting to find the right doctor who will do a good job. I am just researching right now. I am almost a year out. So, I know I have aways to go, but I thought I would start looking and researching for a Good, knowledgeable doctor. If you know of any good websites or any good info I would sure appreciate it! I really appreciate any and ALL responses.

Congratulations on your weight loss.  I worked in surgery for 17 years and Dr. Hawes is one of the best.  He is going to be doing a presentation at out Sept meeting here in Springfield.  You should come and then you can see pics and ask questions.  He's awesome.  I will be sending out an email in the weeks before the meeting.  He agreed to come and talk about plastic surgery for the WLS patient.  He just did a tummy tuck for Brenda a lady that attends our support group and she will be there Monday night with a slide show and information.  Good luck!  140 pounds in a year is great. I think you deserve a big pat on the back, I can't help on the plastics. I just hope one day I can afford  to do it myself.

First of all, let me say Thanks so much for the support!!!
  I really appreciate it and it means more to me then you guys know. Its nice to have a place to come and talk about something with ppl that know exactly what I am going through or have experianced. I doubt I would be able to make a meeting in Springfield, because my car just isnt reliable right now and I would hate to get stranded in Springfield or on the highway. I just put a computer in it, but I need to drive it around town for a week or so before trusting it out on the highway. I sure wish that I could make it though. I would like to know if Dr. Hawes takes Medicare/Medicaid? I am interested. I will probably atleast see if I can get a consult when it is closer to time for me. I am just looking into it now, I want to be confident in whoever does it. I have heard from several ppl that Dr. Hawes is great!!

   Thanks for the info on the support group and I would love to hear how the meeting goes . I have been looking up surgeons but I cant find any real info... like how many deaths, complaints, etc... if you know a website I can go to I would appreciate any help...
