Daily Bible Reading - Tuesday July 21st

Reading of how Solomon finished building the Temple of the Lord was really interesting.  How he furnished it with only the best, the large basins to be cleansed in, the large “sea" for the priests to be cleansed in, all covered in bronze and gold, you know that has to be absolutely beautiful.  All of this was built by hand, nothing was built by a machine because there were no machines back then, only the hands of the men who built them.  What a lot of work to be done by hand, makes you know how proud they must have been to accomplish such a task as that was.

Reading the rest of the Word this morning has been amazing in itself.  Like Bec said yesterday, these past few days the Word has been full of wisdom and good teaching, it’s almost to hard to digest it all without going back and reading it again and again.  When I do that I always seem to find something else that I missed.

The devotional was good, about learning to receive what God has for us.  You know He has so much for us to receive and He really does want us to grasp as much as we can and learn as much as we can so we can get on with the work that He has for us to do.  Receiving His Words by faith isn’t an easy task but is such a rewarding task when we do it.  I challenge you to receive what God has for you, it might just change your life.

Today’s Reading

Daily Devotional

Matthew 21:22

"If you believe, you will receive…"

All through the Bible, there are so many promises of what God has already done for us. It says in Ephesians that "God has blessed us with every spiritual blessing." It says in Colossians that "God has made us worthy." There is mercy for any mistake we will ever make. It’s already been taken care of. He paid the ultimate price through the death, burial, and resurrection of His Son, Jesus. He’s done His part. Now it’s up to us to do our part. We have to start believing it so we can receive it.

In the natural, when someone gives you a gift, what’s the first thing you usually say? "Thank you." When you give thanks, it’s a sign that you are receiving the gift. Today, start receiving what God has given you by saying, “"Father, thank You for Your mercy. Thank You for supplying all my needs. Thank You for Your goodness in my life."

As you learn to give Him thanks, you are learning to receive from Him. Open your heart by faith today and thank Him for all the blessings He has prepared for you!

A PRAYER FOR TODAY

"Father God, I come to You today giving You thanks and praise for Your faithfulness in my life. I choose to receive Your Word which is life and strength to my soul. Help me to keep my heart focused on You. In Jesus’ Name. Amen."

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
