Reading about Solomon building the temple of the Lord just amazes me.  He built that place so beautiful and so magnificent.  It truly was a place to worship an honor the Lord.  Did you all catch how much pure gold was put into the building?  23 tons of fine cold, yes 23 tons, wow that’s a lot of gold.  Each nail was made of 20 ounces of fine gold.  I would love to of seen the temple, that really had to of been such a beautiful place.

In Romans God has given us the ultimate gift, the gift of salvation, eternal life.  We no longer are bound by sin but are free, free from the bondage, free from being a slave to the sin that bound us before.  Not only does this bring back the memories of when I first gave my life to Christ but also when I was set free from the power of being over weight.  Oh what a relief it was when I had WLS, it was like such a heavy burden lifted off me and I’m sure it was like that for a lot of you.  Do we still get tempted by the bad foods?  Of course we do but we have the power to resist those temptations and not gain the weight again.  Just like when we gave our hearts to Christ, we now have the power to be over comers.  Did the surgeons say it would be easy? No way, in fact most of them say it is a rough journey but with the “tool" we can do it.  Using the “tool" properly we can accomplish the weight loss we need.  With Christ in our lives we can do anything we set our mind to.  As it says in Philippians “I can do ALL things through Christ who strengthens me." And we really can!  And just like the scripture says that the devotional uses today “I have given you authority …to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you".  Isn’t that good Word? We can be overcomers and live the victorious life through Christ Jesus because He has given us the power to do so, that’s just awesome.

Daily Devotional

Luke 10:19

"I have given you authority …to overcome all the power of the enemy; nothing will harm you"

God has given you all power and authority to overcome every obstacle you may face in life! That means you are well able to do what God has called you to do. You can accomplish your goals. You have the ideas, the creativity, and the talent to be successful. You have been armed with strength for every battle!

God has already lined up the right people to come across your path. He’s already lined up the right opportunities. You have everything you need to live a victorious life. Not an average life, not a barely-get-by, mediocre life—you were created to excel. You have seeds of greatness on the inside. You may not have seen it in the past, but if you’ll stay in faith, it’s just a matter of time—victory is on the way. Don’t settle where you are.

Rise up in faith today and begin to declare, “I will accomplish my dreams. I can overcome any obstacle. I’ve been equipped and empowered to live in victory in every area of my life."

Today's Prayer: "Heavenly Father, thank You for the power to overcome every obstacle I may face. Help me to see myself the way You see me. Help me to embrace the victory You have in store for me today. In Jesus’ Name. Amen."

Howdy Andy,

There has been so much good Word this past couple of days I have to start with a portion of yesterdays readings... it ministers to me every time I read it... it makes me know the things I go thru is for my own good and helps with the "suffering" part of it....

"Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand.  And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.  Not only so, but we also rejoice in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.  And hope does not disappoint us, because God has poured out his love into our hearts by the Holy Spirit, whom he has given us."

Then today in the old testament a portion of the scripture stood out to me as a reminder of being mindful of my testimony... "I know, my God, that you test the heart and are pleased with integrity."  It made me think... do I have a reputation for integrity?  What can I do to improve my testimony?

Then right on into the Psalm it goes with more admonitions:

He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman... honors those who fear the Lord, who keeps his oath even when it hurts.... He who does these things will never be shaken.

Wow is that a lot to think about in one day!  I'm so thankful for all these things that get me to thinking how I have failed and how I can do better.  Sometime it means humbling myself and asking the Lord's forgiveness for the not so good choices I have made and then knowing the Lord loves me and will help we when I strive to fulfill his commands.

Anyway this was good stuff yet again.

Blessings,

Bec
