Very upset with insurance company

I got an EOB from the insurance company today about my 1st visit to the bariatric surgeon....denied bc they don't cover weight loss treatments unless it's surgical.  SO, I called them and they said that they will cover the surgery itself if it is preauthorized, but no visits before OR after the procedure.  I explained to them that you couldn't just request the surgery...that you had to see the doctor a few times before and especially after  for best results.  They said that I should consider myself lucky that they cover any of it...which I know I am...but I'm not sure if I can do it if I have all the before and after stuff as my own liability!  The first office visit was $121 and I've been back since then to see the psych, the nut, and the exercise guru....that bill hasn't even arrived yet!!

I'm really frustrated right now...I am so ready to do this and now something else to hinder it.  Any advice? Anyone else had this problem with their insurance?

no didnt have the problem but you are about done with the expense before hand and i would call the insurance company back and ask to speak to a higher up....some of those peons that answer phone calls know nothing, they just think they do.... dont give up i know all of it can be daunting and all but just pay it as you can...call all of them and tell them what your insurance co mpany is saying and tell them you will get it paid just not all at once...they also may be able to help you get the insurance company to pay ....
good luck you have a lot of it down and if you tell them that insurance isnt paying and ask for a reduced rate you will be surprised of how much they will do.....wont be long before you have your date now...
