I'm new

Hi, I'm new here. I live in Saint Louis and am interested in possibly getting surgury to help me with my weight. A year ago i was 696 since then i've lost 150 pounds. Don't get me wrong I'm proud of that but I still have a lot to lose in order to have a better and longer life.

I guess what I'm looking for are some recomendations for doctors in the Saint Louis area. I would prefer them to be able to work in Barnes Jewish hospital if possible.

Any help would be very appreciated.

Welcome aboard!  Congratualtions on your weightloss, that's great!  I wish I could help you with Dr's in STL.  I had my surgery in Columbia.  There will be people on here that have and I'm sure they will pass on the information.  I just wanted to say Hi and welcome!  Lou ;)

Just wanted to say welcome to the board and congrats on your weight loss that is wonderful. Sorry I am of no help with drs at barnes although I know there are some. If you want I could ask my sister she may know of some. Since she was and RN at barnes till about a year ago then she switched to a hospital closer to home.

Welcome to the board and congratulations on the weight loss.  I'm sure you feel better.  I'm no help with doctors in St. Louis as I live on the other side of the state.  Look for bariactric surgeons online.

Welcome to the best board in the world. You'll find some loving folks on here. I don't post often - but I try to read every few days. Hope someone with St. Louis experience gets on here soon. You might try adding Barnes Hospital as the title of a message. I had surgery in Springfield 12/16/06

you are doing wonderful on losing the weight , i cant imagine the dedication you had to have to do that..,,,as far as Dr. go for  Barnes   try  Drs. Chriss Eagon, Valaie Halpin or Todd Burry.....those are the only names i have and if they dont they maybe can help you find the right doctor,,,,there is a doctor out there for you i promise,,, if you want to come farther in the state, Dr. Hornbostel in Sedalia is fantastic , of course i think so , he did my surgery. then in Columbia there is some great doctors and some of those doctors also Dr. Del a tora (sp) operates both in Columbia and St. Louis but not at Barnes.    Keep coming to the board and someone i know will have your answers......welcome welcome on that great weight loss keep up the good work , the more you lose the better your liver likes it....i guess i will get off of here i didnt mean to write a book ....
