I had another visit at the bariatric clinic yesterday...had my exercise evaluation, my nutritional evaluation, and my psych eval. Drumroll please...I'm mentally sound for surgery!! Yippee!! Some family and friends might beg to differ on that, but Dr. Miller's opinion matters!  The other evals went well too and I am actually looking forward to starting to exercise. She wants me to start with 20 minutes 2 days a week and then gave me a schedule to advance days and minutes. Planning to get on the treadmill in the morning!!

Nutirtion wise....I have some questions about vitamins and protein supplements.....

Any recommendations on either?  I'm really gaggy and not good with textures so I'm a little worried about the chewables.  Please share your experiences with either the chewables or the capsules!

Also..how about shakes?  What do you use? What ones to avoid? Obviously, cost is important to me...but I also have to be able to drink a lot of them...so I would pay more for quality!

I'm waiting on my PCP to get the last of my paperwork in and then they will submit it for final approval....after that....a date can be set!! I'm getting so excited!

Hope you all are having a great week! I enjoy reading your posts and watching your progress..I'm ready to be there with you!

Protein supplements are going to be trial and error. You have to try several different brands and flavors. Check out the web sites and you can order samples. I can tell you I ordered some that tasted like I would expect doggie doo to taste. I did find some I like.  After the first few weeks it gets easier. I did the liquid vitamins at first, they are nasty. I was able to swallow pills at about three weeks.

hey great that you are almost there.   Im sure that Dr, Price will give you a list of what to dirink and what to eat...follow those list to the letter...each doctor has a different list  so it only serves to mix you up about what you should be doing.......what works for one doesnt for the other so just listen and when they give you a date they will also give you a list or booklet what ever. ....good luck  and we are waiting for you over by the losers bench......

Hi, its exciting that your moving foward.  Every step will get you closer to your goals! YAY!  I have taken Celebrate vitamins since day one.  I started on the chewables.  The chewables are pretty good.  They have several different flavors.  After awhile they taste like crap. LOL   Its nothing you can't stand to take until you can swallow a pill though.  I took thier multi chewable ( I think its orange flavored), calcium chewable( strawberry) but they have coco flavor I've heard they are good, iron chewable( grape).  Then switched to pills about 2 months later.  Celebrate vitamins have the b-12 in them, so that one less pill you have to take every month.  I've had great luck with them.  Like the other ladies said you can request samples.  Your nutritionist will tell you what they want you to take as far as what supplements.  For me this was all the most confusing.  My daughter and I sit down once a month and make up vitamin packs with those snack size zip bags.  We make a months worth and then every am I can just grab a bag and go. ;) Lou

I'm a Dr. Price graduate. He is so nice as is his staff.  Trish gets on my nerves with her exercise requirements.  Thelma will give you all kinds of info on vitamins.  As for protein supplements, as someone said, it's trial and error.   I like GNC's brand in vanilla and Caramel Chocolate.  Pure Protein has a large container that sells for about $14 at Walmart.

It's been a little over a year for me and it's been a wonderful experience, best thing I ever did for myself.

Personally, I haven't found any chewable vitamins I like.
