Daily Bible Reading - Thursday July 16th
Today’s reading was really interesting, especially Psalms where it was talking about neighbors deceiving each other and lies coming out of their lips, the faithful are vanishing. You know if you look around and think about it, that’s exactly how the world is turning today. Then it talks about violence being done to the poor and homeless and how they groan but now its time we rise up and rescue them and teach them and help them get set free from the bondage they lay in. That really makes me think of myself and how for me its time to get on with things God has for me to do. Its time to stop putting things off, stop procrastinating and start living life and doing what we were intended and created to do. God has a plan for each and every one of us, having the surgery was just a part of His plan. Now that I’m moving forward I know it’s time for me to get up and do what God has planned for me to do. Just like the devotional, we need to trust in the Lord with our whole heart, when doing that you’d be surprised what you can accomplish.

Psalm 20:7
"Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God!"
I love the declaration in Psalm 20:7 that says, "Some trust in chariots and some in horses, but we trust in the name of the Lord our God!" Now, maybe you're not literally trusting in chariots and horses today, but in Bible times, chariots and horses were considered valuable resources. You were strong and powerful if you had lots of chariots and horses. Today, people still look to power, wealth, and resources as their source of strength.
Are you trusting in natural resources today? Natural resources can be your job, a medical report, or anything in this world that you might depend on or draw strength from. Do you depend on the morning news to set the tone of your day? Remember, these things are all temporary. And yes, they do affect our daily lives, but we have to keep them in proper perspective. When you put your hope and trust in temporary things, your security and confidence is going to be temporary. Instead, put your trust in the name of the Lord! Declare, "No matter what is happening around me, God is bigger than my cir****tances. He's more powerful than anything in the world. He is the source of my joy and strength; and I will put my trust in Him!" When you trust in the Lord, you'll be empowered by His strength. Your confidence level will soar because you have a foundation that cannot be moved and will never fade away. You have hope and trust that is secure for all eternity!
