Daily Bible Reading - Friday July 10th
You never know how much you miss something until its not there, don’t you? I kept up with the reading while not being online but its really not the same as putting it down on paper, well in my case typing it on Word. I should of typed out my thoughts the whole time we didn’t have the internet but I didn’t, I didn’t think about that until yesterday, silly me. The readings have been good though, there’s always a tidbit tucked in the Word here and there that seems to always jump out at us unexpentantly. A lot of Chronicles has been like rereading parts of the books we’ve already read but still good. Today we see that Saul died because he was unfaithful to the Lord, we already knew that he was unfaithful but it’s always good to read someone else’s account. That’s one reason I like the the four gospels, they are basically the same but different accounts.
In Acts, can you even imagine being on a ship in a storm like that for more then 2 weeks? Those men must have been terrified the ship was going to sink in the middle of the ocean. When the angel of the Lord came to Paul in the night and said no one would perish they all seemed to believe him. That must have been such a trying time, even for Paul. Paul had the confidence though that the Lord would protect them as He has promised. That makes me think of recent events in my life where I am having to trust the Lord completely, no matter what the cir****tance looks like and how it looks. Its really difficult to put your trust out there sometimes but knowing that you are doing what the Lord wants you to do and knowing His promises are ye and amen gives us all assurance that He always keeps his promises. That’s a lesson for me in itself, hard lesson but good one.
I always love the wisdom of Proverbs. If we take just one verse out of Proverbs and apply it to our lives we would be so successful. Today verse 24 is so very true, some friends destroy each other but true friends stick together closer then family. That’s been very true in my life, true friends really are closer then family sometimes and come few and far between but sure do bless your life when you have a true friend.

Acts 27:21-44
Psalm 8:1-9
Proverbs 18:23-24

Ecclesiastes 9:10a
"Whatever your hand finds to do, do it with all your might"
David was a man of excellence. The Bible tells us that David played his harp “skillfully." He didn’t just play it, he played it with excellence. When he slung the stone that defeated Goliath, it wasn’t an accident. It wasn’t just a lucky break. David had practiced the slingshot year after year out in the shepherd’s fields. He was extremely talented with that slingshot. Some experts say he could hit a small bull’s eye more than 100 feet away!
In the same way, if we want to see God’s hand of promotion, we need to live excellently. In this day and age, if you’re not growing, then you’re at a disadvantage. If you’re at the same skill level this year as you were five years ago, then you are falling behind. It’s time to step it up a notch. Whatever you are doing, do it with all your might! Don’t get complacent. Keep growing; keep learning; keep improving. As you do your best to live excellently, God will bless the fruit of your labor. He’ll pour out His “super" on your natural and cause you to rise up higher into the life of victory He has in store for you!
Today’s Thought: I choose to live in excellence. I want to bring You glory in all that I do. Thank You for promoting me as I dedicate every area of my life to You.
