Daily Bible Reading - Thursday July 2nd
Seems like the Lord is bringing around discipline to us again. In Proverbs today vs 9 says “ A lazy person is as bad as someone who destroys things." I know the Lord does not honor laziness and it really creeps in to our lives sometimes without us realizing it, that’s how satan works. When we are disciplined the Lord really honors that and is so pleased that He’ll bless us tremendously. Reading the devotion just confirms what Proverbs had to say. I like how the devotional said “Your performance gives you a platform." When we are disciplined and walking in the Lord we stand on a platform that will help us be better and do more to spread the word. Discipline has always been a sore spot in my life, I’ve never been as discipline as I should have been and want to be, I’m certainly better then I was especially since losing weight but there is still room for improvement. Even in reading about all the kings, we see how some of them were so not disciplined and some were. The ones that weren’t disciplined really paid the price and were displeasing in Gods eyes. Now if we could be more like David we’d be doing good. For the most part he was a disciplined guy, he is a good role model to read about.
***Bec***My goodness you sure got me to thinking about the heaps of insults to the Lord, I’ve thought all day yesterday on that and I bet I have, sometimes our actions sure aren’t what the should be are they? Just another area for me to improve but that’s ok, when this year is done and we’ve read through the whole bible hopefully the Lord will have covered all over our lives and we will all be much better people because of it. Thank you for your thoughts, they really mean a lot to me because the Lord always speaks volumes through you.
***Jan***Yeah that’s always been a weak area in my life in the past. I guess I used to be one to want to jump right in on the big things by passing the little things but that’s not how it works. I’ve become more faithful in a lot of areas and still have so many areas to work on like the weeding lol, people prolly think im nutty but that really is a small area to improve for the Lord, with the Lords help though I’ll get there. Thanks again for your imput!!

Proverbs 18:9-10
Daily Devotional
Matthew 5:16
"Let your light so shine before men that they may see your moral excellence and your praiseworthy, noble, and good deeds and recognize and honor and praise and glorify your Father Who is in heaven"
Do the people around you see your light shining? Do they know you are a believer by your actions? Are you setting the bar in your office? Can people see your good works?
I know people who can quote half the Bible and pray two hours a day, but they have no influence or credibility because they’re sloppy in the workplace. They’re always late or wasting time. They’re not productive. They’re not efficient. No one will even listen to them.
I heard somebody say, “Your performance gives you a platform." When you excel in what you do, that gets people’s attention. The way to gain respect, the way to gain influence is to develop your character and skills in such a way that people want what you have. They may not agree with what you believe, but when you are the best in your company, they can’t argue with that. You’ve earned their respect, not by your words, but by your spirit of excellence.
I encourage you today, don’t settle for mediocrity. You are a child of the Most High God. Make the decision today to let your light shine and bring Him glory in everything you do!
