Daily Bible Reading - Tuesday June 30th
Bec said yesterday we been doing this 6 months now, can ya believe it? Boy has the Lord spoke many things to us all. It just doesn’t seem like its been that long already, that means we are half way through the bible, just think of what God has in store for us this next 6 months, I know we are going to be blessed beyond measure.
With what everyone has read this past 6 months, what has stuck with you the most? For me it has to be David I think, David was an over comer no matter the situation. I really like how David before he became king and Saul was chasing him and trying to kill him because of what Sauls people were telling him about David. Saul knew David was the next appointed king but I believe he was jealous. I loved where David and his men went into hiding in the cave and Saul just happened into the same cave, Davids men wanted to kill Saul but David, being a man of God’s own heart, would not let them touch Saul because David knew Saul was still God’s anointed. He did sneak up without Saul knowing and cut the corner of Sauls robe and then approached Saul, I think right there Saul knew for sure David was going to be king. David and Saul made a covenant that day, Saul asked him not to harm any of his family in any way and David agreed, and David stuck to that covenant. I really came to respect David even more after reading that. David was so encouraging to me, with everything he had to overcome he still put God first and trusted God. Makes me know that if David can over come anything so can all of us.
The devotional this morning really spoke to me. Makes me look at my own self and see what area’s I can do better in because there are several. There are several area’s I had not even thought of that I know I can improve in to honor God. There are things I really don’t like doing so I just kind of “slough" off but that isn’t pleasing to God and I’ve never thought about that until now. Even the little things we do in life matter to God. Im going to strive to be better at doing the small things I don’t like to do, maybe if I know I am honoring God in doing the smalls things I don’t like to do I will actually do better.
Today’s Reading
2 Kings 17:1-18:12
Acts 20:1-38
Psalm 148:1-14
Proverbs 18:6-7
Daily Devotional
Titus 3:1
"Remind people to be submissive to [their] magistrates and authorities, to be obedient, to be prepared and willing to do any upright and honorable work"
In what ways do you honor God? A lot of times, people think “I go to church to honor God. I read my Bible to honor God. I sing and clap to honor God." And yes, those are ways to honor God, but did you know that you honor God just as much when you get to work on time? You honor God when you are productive each day and honor the people in authority over you. You honor God when you excel in your career.
Actions speak louder than words. When you give your very best in the workplace, your whole life is giving praise to God—it’s one of the best witnesses you could ever have. Just showing up with a good attitude, friendly, organized, being your best—people will notice there’s something different about you. They’ll want what you have.
As believers, we should set the standard in all areas of life. People should see the depth of your character and your spirit of excellence and know that you are a child of the Most High God. Make the decision to honor Him in all that you do because you are His representative in the earth today!
Today's thought: Father in heaven, I choose to honor You in all that I do. I choose to set the standard and do my very best. Thank You for the privilege to be Your representative. I love You and bless You! In Jesus’ Name. Amen.
