You know in the Old Testament they’ve gone through so many kings by now I can’t keep up with them all.  Everything King David died there hasn’t been a king with his faith and determination.  Most kings since David let the ruler ship of being a king go to their heads, they all have been full of sin and for the most part not obeyed God’s law.  Yeah some did for a short time but they all end up still be full of sin and not worshiping other gods and so forth, what a shame.

I really like reading the book of Acts and about all the miracles that were performed in that book.  Paul being the traveling evangelist that he was seemed to really love what he was doing for the Lord.  His faith and determination was so strong.  He was determined to get the gospel preached all over the land and he sure didn’t care who he ran into or what people thought of him, all he wanted to do is tell people about Jesus and how to be saved.  You know when you read through all of Pauls messages, its the same messages being preached today, that soon Chris is coming back, you know if He was coming back so soon back then, how much time do we have left before He comes back now?  Not much at all, the signs of the times are really pointing to the second coming of Christ big time.

Psalms is so encouraging this morning, as it is every morning.  Verse 5 this morning I really loved…But joyful are those who have the God of Israel as their helper, whose hope is in the Lord their God.  Just as the scripture for the devotional says “1Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see. 2This is what the ancients were commended for."  Without hope there is no faith, without faith there is no hope, they both intertwine with each other, you have to have them both or none at all, what a revelation.

Put Action Behind Your Faith

One time, when my sister, Lisa, was about four years old, she really wanted to go to the office with our father. It was a week day, and she heard my dad say that he was going to the church, so she asked if she could go with him. My father told her, "No, Lisa. Today is not a good day. I´ve got a lot of meetings, and I´m going to be really busy. Maybe tomorrow or one day next week, just not today."

Well, Lisa didn´t want to go some other time; she wanted to go right then. And she was so determined that in spite of what my father had said, she ran back to her room and started getting dressed as quickly as she could. She acted as if she were going. You would have thought she didn´t even hear what my father said! As she was finishing putting on her little shoes, she heard the back door open and knew my father was leaving. Lisa took off running full speed, and when my father saw her coming–his little four–year–old daughter, fully dressed, struggling to get her last shoe on—it melted his heart. Daddy couldn´t say no. He took her by the hand and said, "Okay. Come on, Lisa. You can go with me today."

What happened? My father saw Lisa´s faith and determination. He saw her doing everything she could, and her actions spoke so much louder than just her words. Her actions made a bigger impact than if she were to beg or sit in the corner and pout. No, my father wouldn´t have been moved by begging or pouting, but he was moved when he saw her faith and determination.

Friend, God is the same way. Can He see your faith? Are you determined to receive everything He has in store for you? It´s important to pray. It´s important to believe. But if you really want to get God´s attention

Today's thought: I choose today to activate my faith and determination to receive everything God has in store for me.
