WHATS HAPPENING SUNDAY

 

Since I am only going to post on Sundays now I will try and remember anything worth while telling you about.   Monday of course was our support meeting. I have had 3 phone calls from people this past week that got my number from the Cox bulletin.  We had a good meeting with 4 new people there.

Also at the meeting I told all of them that I thought it was time for someone else to take over the leadership for awhile....if they wanted to do it a few months at a time or every month a new leader  but I just know I have had it .....I just feel so overwhelmed this summer, don’t know why but I know me and I know I need to back off some....hence the fact that Susan is doing the What’s Happening post except on Sunday ....

Tuesday more of the same hot weather, they are saying that you shouldn’t go  outside to work in the heat for the next several days ....heat is too high...I was out at 5am this morning working in the garden....will have to do that all the time until it cools off some.

Got enough zucchinis for Andy to make another big batch of the chow chow. It is so so good. ....

Had a lot of broccoli and peppers too that I picked, gave those to Andy and Susan...

Thanks Andy for making that for me relish for me....great job it is so good.

 

 

Wednesday wasn’t feeling well , is the heat I know , I spent too much time outside on Tuesday and felt really bad all day Wedne sday....just weak and tired stayed in the house most of the day....Joe got about half of the the trim work done in the trailer... after this we are getting the ceiling fixed and we will be ready to rent it out on week ends.  Wish I knew what exactly to rent it for...you know how much.... will figure that out I guess. I don’t want it to be too much but I want to make money on it too you know. ...

 

Thursday; we are getting up before daylight now and as soon as it gets light enough out to see.  I hope that Joe didn’t wake Susan and Andy too early with his hammering. Oh well as hot as it is they can get their walk in really early and not be so miserable... Thurs also I guess all the heat really finally got to me I had been outside for about an hour and started feeling so badly that I headed to the house , I was seeing black spots and things were spinning. I got inside the cool house and wow it felt so good but I was shakey and heart beating a mile a minute, I realized I hadn’t had any protein since about 6 am so threw stuff in the blender really quick and blended it all up, poured some into a glass and had to hold on to get to a chair.....called Joe on his cell to come in for a minute....long story short after I got all of the protein shake down and a bottle of water after wards I felt a lot better ... weird how badly our bodies will react to whatever, don’t know if it was the lack of protein or lack of water or both but it was one or the other or both....About the time I began to feel better the sky turned black and we had thunder and lighting and wind and almost an inch of rain....7/10s and the second go around added 2/10s more to it...is amazing what a good rain will do for garden and flowers ...

Speaking of flowers have any of you noticed that the rose of Sharon bushes are all blooming about 2 months ahead of when they normally bloom? And this weather is August weather. I hope this doesn’t mean that in August we will be having October weather...???

My goodness is this heat ever going to let up? 101 heat index today but I do here lots of thunder in the distance again...maybe we will get another inch of rain at least the plants and ground are doing ok so far.  Joe mowed our yard today...he got up at 4 am and went and ran his trot lines but didn’t get a thing on them...he did catch a Kentucky Bass yesterday...not huge but big enough for us to have a meal. I tried to help out on the grass cutting today but just couldn’t stay out there  very long. I don’t know I guess my body doesn’t like the heat any better than it likes the cold. Crazy.

 

Friday I drank so much water I wondered if my eyeballs were going to float at least I know I am hydrated. Went out  this morning early and sprayed two gallons of weed killer and pulled two wheel barrows of weeds up out of things. But was back in the house to  stay for the day by 9am...i was wringing wet with sweat....good grief , Sure wish this heat wave would break.....can you imagine living back in the 30s when they had that huge long drought and heat wave here in the Midwest?  AND NO AIR CONDITIONERS!!!! I think most of us now would just die, since we aren’t use to not having them our bodies just couldn’t take it and we would all just die except maybe the people that work outside all day everyday. Like road people and carpenters, roofers. They would be all right im sure but so many others wouldn’t , office personal that go from and a/c house to an a/c car to a a/c office ....there isn’t any way they would make it. so glad we have a/c but in one way it is bad too ....just some of my jumbled thoughts lol the heat has gotten to my brain I think lol well I can use that excuse ...sounds good anyway.

Well got to go rinse off and get Joe  to take me to wal mart...need some stuff. Need to buy at least two large plastic tubs to put excess stuff in....cleaning out cabinets and getting rid of things I don’t ever use.  Some I am storing too like my big turkey platters and roasting pans, also some of my larger serving bowls...i need them when we have big family dinners but not most of the time. a lot of the stuff I am taking to Michele who has a garage sale about once a month and she can put the stuff in her next sale....Oh I forgot to tell you all she bought me a bicycle the other day at a garage sale. One of the old fashioned ones with the white wall tires and has a big wide seat , no gears, and even has a little basket on the front....she said it rides great....im so excited so that we will get it the next time we go down....I sure hope I can remember how to really ride. Maybe that is a way I can get a little exercise without hurting my knee too much . don’t know it might be harder than walking . better get me one of those little bells that we use to have on the handlebars that you pushed with your thumb –bringgg-brinnggg= get out of my way everyone here I come. Lol

 

Saturday another day of heat , is it ever going to end...it says it id suppose to be a little cooler tomorrow. Or rather today Sunday...the high is suppose to be a cool 90 wow that is cool compared to 93 lol

Worked outside in the front flower beds pulling weeds from 6to about 9 and came in the house...did some more cleaning out of cabinets in the kitchen. Next going to tackle the bathroom gosh stuff really piles up fast if you don’t stay on top of it don’t it? I hate clutter in my house cause I think you cant have a calm mind if your house is cluttered....really when I have a lot of clutter it is awful and I think a lot of that has had something to do with my feeling overwhelmed. I am getting my house in order tho lol

Does anyone else understand what I mean

 

Well I guess we are going to have to look for some new renters. Andy and Susan are going to be moving, Susan wants to go back to work and where we live is just to far to live out and drive back and forth to work , I understand that but I sure do hate to lose them as renters they are more than that for us, we consider them our friends. And is going to be hard to replace them , don’t know if we can find anyone that we like as well that is for sure and they have taken care of the house so well. That is really hard to find. Someone that will take care of the place like they do. and when we are gone we know we don’t have to worry about Rebel, Oh man he is going to miss them. He goes walking with them every day...he is going to miss them too. darn it anyway sure wish you all would stay around here. If you all ever want to move back down and the house is empty you only have to ask and move ....ever need references for anything we will be happy to oblige....

 

I finished up the kitchen sorting out stuff ...wonder how long it will be before I have it messed up again....hope to get the bathroom trimmed down today. I think I can get it all done today. That and the utility room too. it has such a lot of stuff in there ...i want to make another room just for the washer and dryer right off the porch...and then I can use the utility room for my closet ...Havent gotten to wal mart yet...will go this morning. I sure wish I could trust myself to drive to Branson and back without getting sleepy....even with the c-pap machine and the pills I take every day to stay awake I still fall asleep when ever I sit down and my brain doesn’t seem to understand that just because im sitting down I cant go to sleep because im driving. Not being able to trust myself makes me feel old and dependent...I am seeing my sleepy doc again next week and seeing if there isn’t something else they can give me that will work better. It is really flustrating for sure.

 

POOH::::: I am so sorry to hear about your mother but want you to know that I will be praying that you have acceptance of what she wants ...I am praying that the two of you can come to some sort of peace between the two of you so that when she is gone that you will be at peace about it. Love you and hope that you can get time to spend with her that will make your sole feel better....

 

LOU:::: I finally got all the email addresses to print out and will be mailing them to you tomorrow. I tried every way I knew to email them to you but it just wouldn’t work. Don’t know what has happened to my brain and this computer I know I have done that before. Lol oh well maybe you can scan the list into your computer and then get it put onto your mailing list...

Sounds like you are doing great on the sales. I too don’t understand why the banks want to be so slow about returning papers to you , looks like they would want to unload those houses as fast as they could....

 

SUSIE::::: did you go camping? Im like you it is way to hot to go camping , it is too hot to even be outside let along trying to sleep at night in a tent , oh my goodness. But I sure hope they had fun. With some of those girls they couldn’t help but have fun lol

Have you been cutting anymore grass....I was going to help Joe the other day and I made it for about 30 minutes and I was done.

JO;;;; Isnt it fun to go shopping now and part of the fun to me anyway is seeing something that is really cute and then having to say oh shoot it is way too big lol

Joe , my husband says you love to say that don’t you ? I will have to admit I do .

Use to just went in and found the biggest thing they had and sometimes it would fit and sometimes it wouldn’t. didn’t buy much but had a lot to get rid of after I had surgery...but it was an accumulation of about 16 years worth of stuff ....I wish I knew how to sew one of my big regrets is not having the time while raising 3 kids on my own and working 2 jobs most of my life .....Never had any time left over for learning things that I would have liked to have learned.

 

BARB::::: I guess you are out camping yet? I hope you have an air-conditioned trailer or cabin or something.

 

SUGAR:::: oh boy I know you are getting excited about your trip to Costa Rica....I would be too. you will have to tell us all about your trip when you get back ....take care of yourself...I know you will but be sure and get your protein in and your vits in daily and drink lots and lots of water....don’t want you getting sick way off down there....will be praying for you.

SUSAN:::: sure going to miss you being next door to me....I know that who ever we get in there next won’t be nearly as nice as you all are....you are way more than renter to us but also our friends. Hope you will come down once in a while to see us.....Love you both. I know I will see you at the monthly meetings but that isn’t the same ....lol im spoiled I guess.

 

 

Keep cool and hydrated and take care......if you have a lot of flowers in pots one way to save them is move them to the deepest shade you can find and during the hot part of the day turn the sprinkler on them  it will keep the air just cool enough to save them....

 Oh my goodness was it hot yesterday. I went up to the lake to see Angie and Karen. I did not get in the lake. I guess it wouldn't have been so hot if I did. I am not a good swimmer and never loved being in the water. I think swimsuits have something to do with it. I was so exhausted when I got home. I didn't stay but about five hours. Angie had some of her nieces and nephews with her and one of them got overheated. They decided to pack it up and go home before dinner. I think it was a wise decision. We had storms up here last night and they came from the direction of the lake. I wouldn't want to be in a tent during a thunder storm.

I slept pretty good but woke up to early. I am still tired. I am pumping fluids but don't think that the problem because I am in the bathroom enough. The heat just drains me I guess.

I di enjoy the visit with Karen and Angie. I wish we were all closer together so we could get together more. It really helps me to get together with other weight loss surgery friends.

I hope today is cooler and that everyone has a great day.

Good morning to all.hope everyone is staying cool.it sure has been hot.the weather said last night we should be seeing a break.supposed to be in the 80's this week with the 60's at night time.sure will be nice for a change.a chance of rain later on in the week.

andy and i moving into forsyth.i love doing what is happening but i need someone to please do it for me for a little while.i can do it monday thru wednesday then after that our internet will not be on at our new place till the 9.if we go somewhere and there is free wi fi i will be glad to do it.we will have our lap top with us.we will keep in touch till we get thing's in place again.

jan we will miss you and joe and rebel too.you all have been great friend's to andy and i.we will still be friend's that will never change.we will still come down here for vist's.and you all can come to our place anytime you are in town.remember you need a swimsuit.we can do a water work out togther in the swimming pool where we will be living.than's to both of you for all you have done for us.we still will be at the monthly meeting's.

jo i know you will be glad to get your sewing machine back.you sound like can sew good.it is something to do inside where it is cool too.way to hot to be outside.please let us know how your doctor's app goes for you on the 9.we are sure you will do good.do your two furry baby's like to get a bath.mine do not.they run and hid and when i have to leave them at the groomer's they get mad at me.

pooh bear sorry to hear about your aunt.we are praying for your mom.god has his angel's watching over her.

susie i think as hot as it was outside yesterday the water was most likley hot too.would have felt good dipping in it but you would have gotten a sunburn.i burn really easily.hope we do get the break in the heat they are calling for.

Susan, I don't envy you moving.  It's such hard work but there's always excitement in getting a new place.  Good luck in your move and hope the weather cools down.

My "kids" aren't crazy about getting wet but are very good in the tub.  They stand patiently while I soap them down then rinse.  I dry as much as I can then use the hair dryer.  They are very good for the groomer but are worn out when they get home.  I think some of it is they are pouting because they had to go to the groomer.  They really don't like the other dogs barking.  They are definitely pampered pets.  What a joy they are!!

Today is much better weatherwise, not as humid.  Hubby's BD is today so I'm making him a Dreamsicle Cake with reduced sugar cake mis, SF orange Jello and SF orange soda.  It's a WW recipe and I've baked it several times, everyone always loves it and can't believe it not fattening.  His daughter invited us to join them at a Mexican restaurant, one that neither of us like, but you can't say no.  I'm going to have a protein drink just before I go and may not eat anything.  I can eat a few chips but if I'm full I won't want anything.   Eating out just isn't as enjoyable as it was before WLS. 

I'm also going to make another batch of Clouds and hope they turn out better.  The first batch was really good but several of them broke up and I trashed the crumbs. 

Susan dont worry about the post ....if no one offers i will pick it up for a week.... so dont worry about it we will get it going every morning any way.... sure wish i could talk you all into staying. lol twist your arms or something. darn......story of my life lol

Jan, good to hear from you.  You need to take care of yourself.  It's much too hot for you to be outside.  Your Joe is going to calling 9-1-1 for you!!  We don't want that.

I might be interested in staying at your little cattage.  Will you be renting it out for a weekend?  We would want Friday thru Sunday but not until fall. 

I got really good tips here last week on cleaning the garage floor.  Any suggestions on how to clean ceramic tile?  My kitchen floor is ceramic and it's ugly.  The people that lived here previously didn't take care of.  I have scrubbed it but it never looks clean.  I considered carpet but that's big problem too.  Taking it up isn't an option due to the cost.  A handyman said he could clearn it and put a coating on it but he only wants to come here if we have a full day's work for him. 

Jo there are carpet cleaners that also clean cermaic tile and the groute....you might call some of them in your area and see if they do that....i know there is one in Springfield that advertised that as one of their things they do....so i assume KC would have some too. 

Yes once the guest/rental house is ready we will be renting it out for the week ends.... this isnt the same place that Andy and Susan have lived in ....hopefully we have that rented again too. if the people that are interested check out ....would love to have you come down for a week end. does your husband fish? we have the lake almost out the back door. well not exactly but is very close.
Just let me know when....ok?

Hello everyone, seems so long since i have talked to any of you, but i love you all and miss you,

Jan I wish you and Joe lived closer, we would rent the trailer or house for 2 mos, the trailer would be furnished, but Virgil has to be here for work(,darn it)
this little camper is getting to me..good place  to camp in but dont want to have to live in it...lol...

I will be on more when we ever get settled, which will be around the 27th of Aug.

Susan I wish you and Andy the best and I know Joe and Jan will miss you terrible, I will get offf here as i keep getting kicked off, love ya all....vesta
