Daily Bible Reading - Tuesday March 23rd

Wow, what lesson to be learned in 2 Kings today.  The might miracles that were performed in the name of the Lord were awesome.  I’ve never really studied the Old Testament like this and I hadn’t realized there were so many miracles even in the Old Testament.  I really liked how the woman from Shunem had strong faith believing if she could get to the Prophet her son would be healed.  Even when Gehazi tried to intervene and stop her from talking to Elisha she pressed on until she herself talked to him, she just knew if Elisha would touch him the Lord would heal her son and sure enough her son was healed.  The next two miracles were just as awesome but what stuck out to me the most was after Naaman was healed Gahazi ran after him thinking he could get the gifts that Naaman tried to give to Elisha, he even lied and said to Naaman that Elisha wanted to give them to another prophet so Naaman gave Gahazi twice as much to give to the prophets but as we read it was a lie and Gahazi was going to keep it all for himself.  As we see the man of God saw in his spirit what happened and because of that Gahazi and his whole family suffered for the rest of their lives with leprosy, wow that really struck me.  Even in the Old Testament we can learn valuable lessons.

Luke 4:18–19
"The Spirit of the Lord [is] upon Me, because He has anointed Me…to proclaim the accepted and acceptable year of the Lord [the day when salvation and the free favors of God profusely abound]"

In the Old Testament, every 50 years the people would celebrate what they called Jubilee. It was a day of freedom and restoration–once–in–a–lifetime event! But now, because of what Jesus has done, we don´t have to wait 50 years to experience Jubilee. We can live in Jubilee every single day.

I believe this is your year of freedom. It´s your year to be released from every bondage, every debt, and anything that would hold you back. It´s your season to be released from sickness, depression, addictions, and worry. It is your year to see the free favor of God profusely abound! It’s your time of restoration.

Let that sink deep down into your heart today. Dare to believe that He wants to see you free. Surrender every area of your heart to Him and watch the bondages of the past break off of you so you can live in Jubilee in every area of your life!

Today's thought: Father God, thank You for Your favor, grace, and mercy upon me. I know that You paid a precious price so that I can walk in freedom and restoration in every area of my life. I choose to receive everything You have for me so that I can live in Jubilee. In Jesus´ Name. Amen.

Good Afternoon Andy...

I especially enjoyed reading the Psalms this morning where the writer is asking the Lord to not let him faulter.  I feel like that so much of the time.  I know I will fail on my own.  Whether it be in this WLS journey or other aspects of my life.  The author recognized his need for more than what he had in himself.  I too know that if I wish success in my life I will have to have more strength, power and wisdom than I could possibly possess of my own. The Lord will have to graciously bestow it on me!
