Daily Bible Reading - Wednesday June 18th
The devotional is a continuation of yesterdays, getting the break through you need. Today though it says we need to believe for a flood of God’s power, not a trickle, not a stream, not a river but a flood. You know what a flood of water does, it moves everything in its path. That’s what a flood of God’s power will do, it will move you right out of defeat and right into Victory. That’s what God wants to do for us, He’s there waiting on us to make the first move. Once we do, watch out because He’ll flood us with His goodness and mercy. Like David put it, His power is like the bursting forth of waters, it will “Breath through" anything, bringing God’s power down on our lives.
Today’s Reading
1 Kings 18:1-46
Acts 11:1-30
Psalm 135:1-21
Proverbs 17:12-13
Daily Devotional
I Chronicles 14:11

Notice, David likened God's power to the bursting forth of waters. In other words, he described it as a flood. He was saying that when the God of the breakthrough shows up and releases His power, it will be like a flood of His goodness, a flood of His favor, a flood of healing, a flood of new opportunity.
Think about how powerful water is. Three or four feet of water can pick up a huge car that weighs thousands of pounds and move it all around. I've seen on the news whole houses floating down the river in big floods. Nothing can stop the force of tha****er! Anything that's in its way is moved!
You may have difficulties that look extremely large, obstacles that look impassable, dreams that look unobtainable. But know this; when the God of the breakthrough releases a flood of His power, nothing can stop it. You need to get ready not for a trickle, not for a stream, not for a river. Get ready for a flood of God’s favor, a tidal wave of His goodness, a tsunami of His increase! Dare to believe that God is going to overwhelm you with victory in every area of your life today!
Today's thought: Heavenly Father, I invite You to overwhelm me with You today. Take over every area of my life; my thoughts, my attitude, my body. Flood me with Your healing, favor, and strength today as I surrender my entire being to You. Amen.
I had to smile today as I read in the old testament when Elijah told the prophets of Baal to make an alter and then call down there Gods... in my minds eye I can just imagine all the carrying on to get the there offering burnt... and all to no avail!! I also had a very good idea of what it must of been like after Elijah telling them to poor jugs and jugs of water on his offering to the Lord and then it being consumed with fire! Reason I smiled at that is... on vacation it rained on us EVERY SINGLE DAY!!! Paul had a time getting fires stared and if per chance he did get one going good it would rain and douse it! Water and Fire DON'T mix! ~tee hee All the more wonderful how the very power of God was shown! I just love reading how God did things in such an indisputable way don't you?
Then in the Psalms it even says it so very clear.... Verse 5 "I know that the Lord is great, that our Lord is greater than all gods. The Lord does whatever pleases him, in the heavens and on the earth..." Good Word!
The prayer at the end of the devotional today just about says it all:
Heavenly Father, I invite You to overwhelm me with You today. Take over every area of my life; my thoughts, my attitude, my body. Flood me with Your healing, favor, and strength today as I surrender my entire being to You. Amen.
A blessed good day to all.

Is that prayer powerful? To totally be consumed in God's power, wow! How many have truly experienced that? If we would strive to be consumed on a daily basis we'd be able to conqueor anything. Boy does that get me to thinking where I am at and where I need to go.
