Daily Bible Reading - Monday June 15th
You know, reading the devotional today I was thinking how true it is that we need to stop sometimes and just take in what all we’ve accomplished in our journeys of losing weight. Look back at where you started and you will see just how far you really have come. Sometimes I get to where I just don’t see much progress but when I really sit down and meditate on where I started and how big and unhealthy I was I can really see how far I’ve come. Sometimes it’s amazing when I look back, I just sit and thank the Lord He’s enabled me and strengthened me to be able to fight the good fight and win the battle of the bulge. I still have a long ways to go and sometimes I think I only have a short time to get there but in reality its me that wants to get it done now, we all do I think but I know I’ll get there sooner then later but I’ll get there. Try it sometimes, sit down and look back at how you were before you started this journey; you might be surprised at what you see.
Today’s Reading
1 Kings 14:1-15:24
Acts 10:1-23
Psalm 133:1-3
Proverbs 17:7-8
Daily Devotional
Romans 5:1-2
. . .Jesus Christ: By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.
Some days we just need to stop and congratulate ourselves on how far we've come. Perhaps there aren't a lot of outward signs of our diet yet. Perhaps we aren't even close to where we hope to be. Perhaps we still have a long way to go. That's okay. Sometimes we need to rejoice in the progress we've made in order to have the energy to keep on going. The Lord created in six days, and on the seventh He rested. In every endeavor, especially the difficult ones, we need a break to sit back and enjoy what we've done so far. Even if the beginnings are humble, we can feel good that we are devoted to doing something good for ourselves.
Today's thought: I'm better than I was yesterday, and I can't wait until tomorrow!
Well I'm back from another trip to the sil... I was hoping that would be the last trip... but looks like there will be one more next week. I still have the floor to sand... I forgot my sander and Paul was not finished with his part yet.
I sure did appreciate your words this morning... I need to stop a minute and take stock of where I came from and where I'm going. The Lord has been good to me and so much has been accomplished this past year. I like you still have a ways to go but by the grace of God and obedience on my part... hopefully I will get there yet? ~ha
I am just a bit behind on reading and working to catch up AGAIN ~ha but I sure am not as far behind as I was in May.
I know I have been gone so much this past couple of months but I am always so thankful each day I get on here and see you have posted, it sure has helped me stay focused. Thank you for doing this post Andy it has been wonderful.
