WHATS HAPPENING FRIDAY

Today was one of those days , I started early and quit late. Lol I started at 7am cleaning up some of the iris beds. Did get one bed about half cleaned ...but when Joe got up we started working on some shrubs that needed cutting back some. Well one turned into two and three....all of these were spring blooming bushes...which means you need to trim them after they bloom because they bloom on new growth so if you wait and trim them late in the year or early before they bloom then you wont get flowers that next year. Anyway we have lots of shrubs and bushes that needed trimming. Some of them have gotten way out of hand...I then went thru the pathways in the shade garden and cut back bushes and trees that hit you when you walk thru...

After supper I then mixed up some stuff to   on the tomatoes to keep them from getting blossom end rot. So hope that helps, they say that what causes that is a not enough calcium in the soil. Lol guess we can give them some of our calcium , you think that would help?

Planted several more elephant ears....out front ....im thinking about taking out the tulips beds up front. The dang deer and me have a fight every year, me trying to keep them out and they trying to eat as many of them as they can. So im thinking about digging up the tulips and putting something in there that they don’t like. Not real sure what that will be that I want to put in there but will think of something. ..i know a lot of what they don’t like but don’t want to put anything in there that is going to require care really. May put grasses or hibiscus maybe ...

Today will get all of the limbs pickup and burnt tomorrow sometime. But have to go to town either today or tomorrow. Need to get some tick and chigger stuff to kill them . the grass and flower beds are both full of chiggers. Yuck. I hate those things. Ticks you can see and pick them off but not chiggers. The only thing I know that kills them is bleach.

Well I will quit boring you  all.

SUSAN::::: sure I will be glad to take your pictures Sunday....dont know how long its been since your last picture but I know you will have to be able to see that you have lost a lot. Andy too will be surprised at what he has lost....lol you and Andy are surely racing for the line aren’t you? Im betting on you , but don’t tell Andy that ok lol

LOU::::::boy girl you sound as busy as me. Lol  I have to go today to get some annuals , I need more than what I had. So I will have to buy them and hope places here have them on sale....i need about 3 flats of impatients and about that many wave petunias. Will see I guess .

Hold your head high girl when you walk into those(normal peoples stores )lol and get those new clothes. You are doing really well.

SANDY:::::::: ok send it on down. Will keep me from having to water. I have lots of soaker hoses but I still have to fasten the main water hose to them....today is getting grass out from around the watermelons....they have blooms and I think I saw a tiny melon yesterday.....saw tiny cucumbers and lots of squash, no sign of brussel sprouts yet. The plants look good but no signs of the brussel sprouts. Do you know of anything that they might need? Today is also fertalizeing day in the garden. Hope to do the.  flowers too if I have enough fertilizer too. takes a lot to do everything....

RENEE:::::::wow normal? I wish I were. Im still considered overweight...and I don’t think I will ever get to goal ..i guess I will  just be fat lol

I would gladly send the rain to anywhere but here.  We will be wanting it in August though.  DH needs to mow our yard but it never dries up enough.  He needs to trim the bushes too.  I did offer to trim the bushes but he said he could do it.  He's probably afraid I will trim them too much.  He just doesn't trust me in the yard and I'm so glad.  I'll be happy to cook him anything he wants if it will keep me from working outside.

I worked on the alterations for my GD's dance costume last night.  The net overskirt is too long and it's so hard to trim, difficult to see.  It's done so now I can focus on the dress to make for me.  I also do alterations for other people.  That is my fun money.  I used sewing money to buy my ice cream maker attachment for my KitchenAid mixer.

So glad it's Friday and payday.  I need to work on painting the trim in the kitchen tomorrow but sewing may win out over that.....more fun and I need the dress.

Jan, you've have to be the hardest working woman I know.  I get so tired reading what all you do....everyday.
