What challenge are you facing today? Is it something that keeps following you where ever you go?  If it’s something you just don’t want to do or face and it keeps following you then most likely it’s something God wants you to do or face.  I’ve sure found this out recently and the best thing we can do is turn around and face that challenge head on because its not gonna go away until you do.  Like David, he had many challenges to face, sometimes he’d run but if you look back, every time David ran the challenge he was facing was right behind him.  The same is with us, that challenge will always be there regardless of how far you run, so why not turn around and face it, look it in the eye and conqueror that thing, you’ll see how much better you will feel about it and yourself, that’s what I had to do and now I am glad I did.

Today’s Reading

2 Samuel 20:14-21:22
Acts 1:1-26
Psalm 121:1-8
Proverbs 16:18

Daily Devotional

Galatians 5:1

"It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery"

So many people today are missing out on the freedom that God has in store for them simply because they’re always running from their adversities. They’re continually running from their challenges or difficulties, content to stay right where they are. And I know that it’s sometimes difficult to stand against the enemy. It can be uncomfortable to confront our challenges in order to take hold of freedom. But I believe that it is actually more difficult to run from our challenges than it is to stand and face them.

See, if you’ll face your challenges, then it will only be a temporary difficulty. But if you spend your whole life running from your challenges, it’s as if they never go away—like a ball and chain around your ankle, those challenges will follow you everywhere you go. But that doesn’t have to be you! Instead, stand firm on God’s promises. Declare His Word over your life. Ask God to give you wisdom and direction as you face the difficulties in your life so that you can take hold of the freedom He has prepared for you!

Today’s Prayer: Father in heaven, thank You for freedom through Christ Jesus. I choose today to stand firm on Your promises. I choose an attitude of faith and expectancy knowing that You are leading me in paths of victory all the days of my life. In Jesus’ Name. Amen.

Good Morning Mr. Andy,

Boy is it good to be home!  We had a wonderful vacation and seen the very handy work of God!  It just confirmed to me again how great our creator is!

There once was a popular song that said the mountains bow down and sea roars at the sound of His name! That's exciting stuff!

I have throughly enjoyed reading David's story again.... He was such a great man of God but yet so very "human" like us all.  He was humble enough to admit when he was wrong yet strong enough in the Lord to be used mightily!  So much good to be gained from his story!

Loved the Psalms today... a good old standby to the assurance that He is with us all the way ~ all the time!

As we continue on the weight loss journey the devotion was so encouraging... we do have to face our challenges kinda like "taking another lap" until we've learned our lessen as the song says... I want to choose to continue to put into practice the "d" word and see success in this incredible adventure!

Bless you again Andy for this post it has done me much much good this year in keeping my focus on what the Lord has set before me!
