I have heard six months is the honeymoon and after that you lose slowly. I know you can continue to lose for up to 18 months from surgery alone. I just wonder how much you lost after six months? I am trying to judge if I will make goal or if so about how long I can expect. I know everyone loses at a different rate but I am looking for averages not expecting to be just like you. I like to have a plan  and if I have an idea of what to expect I feel better.

Angie Im 2 years 7months out and am losing.  After a year I messed up and didnt follow the rulez so to speak but am back on track for a while now and as long as I do what I'm suppose to do I lose, I guess it depends on the individual but thought i'd chime in and let ya know that Im still at it even at 2 yrs 7 mo.

Thanks Andy I was starting to panic a little.  I don't eat nearly like I did before surgery so I have to be losing something right???  Or will I maintain my weight I'm at now even though I'm not eating as much as I did before surgery? I weighed friday and I was 348.  I seem to be flucuating in a 10 lb range.  Maybe I need to get back to the basics again it 's just soooo hard for me because I know I'm a food addict and love food and like to eat.  My brain hasnt become a WLS patient yet.  I don't know how to ever stop it.  I'm going to see a eating disorder phys doc on the 19th hopefully she can help me.  I was even thinking about getting hypmotized.  I dunno I need to do something cause I'm not loosing anymore.  Been the same weight since Feb.  I eat little amounts throughtout the day.  I don't eat a full meal I eat a little of it then later I'll eat like a grapefruit or sf popcicle or celery with peanut butter and sf strawberry preserves.  Or drink chicken broth.  I STILL drink chicken broth.  My problem is I still don't feel full.  I feel the OMG I ate too much but I don't feel full.  I get that "I ate one bite too many" that makes me sick because I dont know when I'm getting full.  I don't know---I just dont know what to do.  I'm weak I think I failed at being a WLS patient.  I suck---I just can't control eating---some days I can eat everything in the fridge and other days nothings even sounds good.  Does anyone else feel like this or am I just crazy???  I'm just wondering if Im a lost cause....

Angie I promise ya you arent the only one like that out there. I was going through the EXACT same thing except I took it one step further and started eating way to much and gained about 40 or 50 lbs, im really not sure how much I gained cuz I refused to get on the scale for awhile.  It took me getting back to the basics, its not easy, not easy at but it can be done.  Getting back to the basics helped me get back off the carbs, I am so addicted to carbs its unreal at times, yeah they bother me but I guess at sum point i just didnt care, i dont dump on them really but they do make me feel ill and sleepy and all that. Another thing that really help jump start my weightloss again was my wife getting the surgery done, I went on the 2 week liquid diet with her and did everything she's had to do up untill now just as if I had gone through the surgery again, now thats been tough at times but for me its prolly easier because we are doing it together, that so makes alot of difference.  Maybe if ya just try to get back to basics for a bit it would help.  Also when you do the chicken broth and all, that never gave me a full feeling at all, actually that seems to make me hungrier  lol i drink that and 10 mins later im like  IM HUNGRYYYYYYYYYYYY  lol.  I've thought about the hypmitisng and stuff too, i dunno how that works but hey whatever works to get us through, we gotta do what we gotta do.  So yeah I say that to tell ya that your certainly not alone in how you feel but I do know you can do it, your pouch is still there to use as a tool and after all this time it works for me.  Hang in there and dont give up, keep trying what works best for ya.

Hope sum of this made sense anyway lol.
