RAIN RAIN GO AWAY , EVERYONE WANTS TO PLAY..

Don’t think it will listen to us. ..first thing Sunday morning I went over and painted the wall in the kitchen...oh wow I love it. I also have  a solid red table cloth on the table and then touches of red here and there. Plus the red stove will be there on the other wall.

I love it. so cool.

Then Joe and I went out in the garden and he got on the claw and we did one whole row...my back feels like someone is standing in the middle of it lol ...but the row looks great.  Hopefully we will be able to get another row done tomorrow. Whoops no tomorrow is taken up with  Great grandbabies coming down.

Have a lot of weeds yet , the shell beans are up and climbing the fence....the cucumbers and putting off runners. And the watermelons are looking good too. the red sail lettuce I wish there was someone around to help us eat it. Andy , Susan and myself don’t eat that much and Joe doesn’t eat salads very much...he will eat a chef salad if it is loaded with lots of stuff. The green beans have little blooms on them as do the peppers. The squash both the yellow and zucchini all have little squash on them some as many as 4 or 5 on each of them... I am going to start planting some okra in between some of the lettuce because it will be getting too hot for the lettuce soon. Sure is a shame that you cant do anything with it to save it. because it is really beautiful lettuce.

Im making salmon cakes for supper....plus salad and baked sweet potato...can smell the salmon all over the house lol . stinky but so good.i load them up with lots of chopped onions , egg and crumbled saltines.  I can eat a small one of them...

Well looks like it might have set in to rain for awhile...has been raining since about noon and is now 4pm Sunday afternoon. Wanted to get back out into the garden this evening to maybe do another row of weeds ...dont look like it will happen. Besides Joe has given up and went to sleep lol ...

Ive been reading my mother earth magazine. I love this mag. It is great. And has a lot of good ideas....for all sorts of things. ...Joe says on no not something else to be giving you more ideas lol I now am wanting several plastic barrels to collect rain water in. to water plants and stuff. Just have to figure out what corners we will put them at lol .

SUSAN::::: congrats on the new weight....i love to see you every couple of day you can see the weight just falling off you....do you know about the fire resale shop here in Cedarcreek.? They have lots of stuff over there really cheap of course they have lots of stuff that you have to look thru...

\

POOH BEAR::::I don’t think it got to 80 degrees here all day..no I just looked and the highest it got down here was 70 degrees...it was really cloudy all day. Pooh I know it is so very hard to forgive at times and sometimes it is near impossible . I know you will get it done one day....I have a sign on my ref. that says He who angers you, controls you. And if you think about it , that is so very true.  Love you and will keep you in my prayers that you are able to reach that goal soon.

SUSIE::::: we had thunder boomers here too in the late afternoon.  Yeah Deer like to eat on a lot of different things. But there is stuff you can get to spray on the plants that will keep them away from it. they love to get hold of my tulips in the early spring when they first come up but once I spray that stuff on them it keeps them away...

Lol what in the world are you doing with the Air on already? Hasn’t been hot enough for air yet? I would have to have a sweater on too if Joe turned the air on....

SUGAR::::: I sent you her address. So you are set with that.   What you got planed this summer after your trip? Sure wish I was going with you lol sounds like fun....

Have you got your trip around the world all planned now for your JOY group?

DON’T FLOAT AWAY EVERYONE,,,,AND HOPE YOU HAVE AN ALTERNITIVE  TO  A COOK OUT    HAPPY MEMORIAL DAY....REMEMBER ALL THE FALLEN G.I. S THAT HAVE FOUGHT FOR OUR FREEDOMS AND OUR RIGHTS

Why we have such a big garden and so many tomato plants - we give a lot of it away.  Do we need 182 tomato plants? who knows - LOL!!!   I am going to put up salsa, tomato sauce, juice, soup starter, green beans & tomatos, freeze onions, broccoli, cabbage, carrot and peppers.  I wasn't physically able to do it last year but look out this season.
Going to fix a wilted lettuce & spinach salad to have with chicken for dinner tonight.

I have the chicken in the crock pot now - put it in frozen
.  Its so tender and juicy cooked on low for 8 hours.  I am not cooking it any other way since I started doing it that way.  I didn't have time to thaw out the thighs & breasts one day last week when I remembered reading about not thawing the chicken before putting it in the crock pot in one of my cooking magazines and at 5am I was kind of in a hurry.  I was so surprised when I got home from work and the results were wonderful!!!  I used 1 of the boxes of chicken stock I got at aldis.  I try to keep it well stocked as it is so cheap and easy to use.

I had a very nice birthday Saturday and everyone called me - yes Stephanie called me and I got to talk with Jamie.  That just made my day.  Daniel's kids sang Happy Birthday to me on the answering machine as I missed it being in the garden.  Ethan then sang to me when I called them back.  It was so cute.  The kids are growing up so fast!  I even got roses!

Went over to cemetary and Mom's memorial bench was covered in bird stuff so I cleaned it off.  My Aunt's have decorated all the family graves so nice.  I don't put flowers on the graves as my Grandmother once said "If you can't bring me flowers when I am alive don't bring them to me when I am gone".  Mom's ashes are not buried and will not be until the time that Dad passes as it is a double cherry wood urn/box.  Dad decided to have the bench made in memory of Mom as she had liked the idea of having some place to sit at the cemetary.  You don't know how many people have told us how nice it is.

Going to finish planting my herbs this am before it rains (hopefully it rains) I have lost my oregano & taragon over the winter but the chives, sage & thyme survived in the mineral tubs.  I have 2 tubs I use to collect rain water to water my plants.  We planted yellow squash yesterday evening in place that zucchini did not come up.  I pu****er in the trenches/holes after Dad dug them then put the seeds it to help start the germination process.  Didn't have time to soak them before hand.

Got my first skeeter bite of the season yesterday - using lots of bendry gel on it - LOL!

Cassie one of my fur babies had diarrhea yesterday so I had to give her some peptobismal - now she has a pink tinged face - no she did not like it but it works!  So the only thing I really have planned today is to give both dogs a bath.  It is kind of nice having a quiet day...

You all have a great Memorial Day!

Sandy,
You may not remember me as its been a long time since I posted on here.  I  am so consumed with  daily activities I dont get on here.  I read sometimes but that is all.

Just wanted to pass a hint on to you.  With extra tomatoes just wash and dry them and put them in a gallon size bag and freeze them.  they are not good for slicing, but are wonderful for chopping for soup , chili and anything else that requires tomatoes.  I still have some in freezer from last year.  And we love tomato juice too.   Colette

Colette;

How are you? You are missed on the board.  Glad you are busy with activities and feeling well.

I also freeze tomatoes but, I blanch them, peel, core and cube then freeze. Little more work but, they are great to bag just enough to place in a salad frozen and they do taste good to us. I let them thaw about half way before I place them in the salad. Just another idea.

When I take my granddaughters to branson maybe we can meet somewhere and visit a little.

Hi,
I am fine.  Just so busy with the new responsibility the Lord has given me at this time in my life.  I am home full time now taking care of my husband .  He is holding his own.  He can transfer  to chair and walk short distances with a  walker and feed himself  so I am thankful for that..  I take him to church and push him in w/c  from car to door of church.  Usually the does not want to do much else like ride to walmart etc.  So since we live in country  it is hard for me to .go  a lot.   I  have lots  to keep  me busy  like garden, cutting grass, laudry,  amd  all  the  things  around  the house.  God  is good to me  and has blessed us with  a great marriage and  family for 52 years.  I  think of all of you ,  and the weight is just fine.   judy  yesterday  I set up my gazelle and took my  weights out to the garage where I can do them in the fresh air  this summer. Thanks for asking.  colette

No, the trip around the world for the JOY group is a long way from being done...Im now on the search for maps of all 7 continents and the countries we will visit. Also would like to find flags too! Of course these have to be free or cheap! lol

I think I have my costumes down except for my "dundee" hat and a tam or beret for France..oh and a poncho for Chile and a funny little hat for there which looks sorta like a bolo, also need an apron for the Italy stop ...I have the USA covered and , Antarctica, Asia (going to Israel and Japan) Then Australia and  Africa. So when I get Europe (going to France and Italy) as well as South America, I guess I will be done with costumes.

Then foods from each place...and I think I have that figured out it will just be a matter of buying it all and fixing it.

Decor is pretty well covered except for a few details like the flags and maps.

Of course then I have to make thier passports and buy a stamp pad so I can stamp them at each country...lol!

Oh and Im still looking for luggage..I have several pcs. I can use but really would like to find some old stuff too with stickers all over them.

My costume for the USA is a Missouri t-shirt that I will wear with a flag bandana and flag ear rings...lol! simple and quick

Then for Antarctica it is Mama's fur coat, a fur hat a lady gave me and some snow goggles and my furry boots

South America is a full Latin looking skirt and that is what I need the little bolo hat and a poncho

Australia is a dundee hat and kahkis and an across the shoulder bag for walk-abouts..and hiking boots.

Well, you get the idea! It will be so much fun...

Oh and one other thing...Im going to make a mixed cd with music from each place..if I can figure out how to download the stuff to my puter and then burn them.

Any volunteers offering to help me with that??? lol

Have a great day everyone. Rick and I are going to Roaring River to check some stuff out for a church activity coming up on the 6th.

Good Morning Susan And Andy
Yup we sure did spend the night in the tent.We have a queen size air matress for Gail and I and Nikki has a twin size one.And boy are they great.I love sleeping on it,so comfy. Of course Otto had to spend the night with us all buried under my blanket LOL.Havent had but about a week and he is already so attached to me and I just Love him to peices.Gail ran me a elec cord out to the tent so i could have my fan LOL. Boy we really roughed it last night LOL.
Had a small light for the girls but they could see shadows from the tree branches on the tent and freaked thinking something was gonna get us LOL.So i turned it out they felt safe then and was soon asleep. We slept till 9:30 Am, I told Gail if sleeping in the tent keeps Nikki from waking up at the crack of dawn,I think we will do it more often LOL.Oh and Bob our big male kitty stayed with us too LOL.
I love camping but last year was not fun or many years before cuz i was so big it was miserable. But it is lots of fun now.
Nikki starts summer school the 26th. They go for 4 hrs. I let her decide if she wanted to go and she does . Didn't wanna make her since she goes for 9 months.but she wants to so thats a good thing.

I got on the trampoline and Jumped yesterday was so much fun LOL.I am a big kid at heart LOL.
Gail is already on the puter programming his music for Christmas. I told him i think he is addicted, LOL. He is so excited to see all his hard work lit up to see how its gonna look. We bought 5 more new inflateables so now he has 37 only 13 more to reach his goal of 50 LOL.He has 8 songs programed  so far. they take about 14- 18 hrs per song to program. But will be so worth it.

Well i better quit yaking and get busy doing something.Hope ya'll have a Great day.
Love and Hugs Deb,Gail & Nikki

Howdy Guys & Gals...
Setting here having my coffee with some much needed peace & quiet so I thought Id jump on and say hi, see how things were going and update ya on things....

I hate this darn rain!!! I got things I had hope to get done in the yard this weekend... If I dont do it on the weekend I dont get much help cause of the way Joe works during the week.......And I wanted to get some painting done.....I got to go to town and get things to get some projects done around the house because my son got his bonus from the Army and he owed me $2000 so he paid me in full !!!!!!! So Ive had a blast getting paint, plants & etc....I even got me a new pool !!! Im tickled to death over that..I love being in the pool and its a fun & cool way to exercise.....And Im finally going to get to redo my ugly old bath room....Other rooms in the house need some work but my bath room is pathetic!!! And when we took over the house from my sister the bathroom and one bedroom didnt have a door on it and I have had curtains over the door ways... But I got me some doors this weekend and so anxious to paint them and get them put up!!!  And been blessed with some free help...Adas boy friend does work redoing houses and construction and he is going to redo my bathroom for me for FREE after I get to town and get the rest of the stuff !!! Free is wonderful and I can spend the money saved else where lol lol.....

Well we did our Memorial Day gathering yesterday because Joe has to work today... It was a great day!! Had all my kids and grandkids here along with my mom, step dad & my sister...It did rain and we had to be in the house some but Joe put the grill on the front porch and we grilled anyway!.....Then my son let me take his truck out mudden!!  Theres a farmer thats not going to be too happy when he goes out to his field lol lol...I trid to stay on the road but the mud slung me out there and I had to go or get stuck LOL LOL..... Me and my sister had a blast....I think I might be kin to the dukes of hazzard!! LMBO!!!!!......Then we kicked back after most of the kids and all had left and watched some movies......It was a good day rain or not!

Went to see Dr. Scott last week.....Wasnt suppose to go till around June 4th but Ive been having some pain in my stomach when I bend, turn or lift and I was worried about that big hernia he fixed.....My PCP ordered a CAT SCAN and it showed there was no hernia but she said she would feel better if I seen him and told me to tell em I wanted an appt ASAP....Got one for two days later!! Shocked me cause I know they are always busy.....He looked at the CT Scan disk I took him and agreed theres no hernia and he thinks the pain I feel when I move is a pulled muscle or a nerve acting up from the tummy tuck in Jan.....I was soooooo glad it wasnt the hernia again...I am not up for another surgery right now...Ive had 3 major surgeries in 1 1/2 yrs and I feel like Im just now getting up on my feet good from it.....

I also had another repeat mammagram a few weeks ago.....It showed things are still about the same but they want me to do it again in 6mo to be safe....So I go back in Nov to do it again.....

I had to take Ada to the ER the other night because she had an asthma attack and her inhaler wasnt stopping it....We got there and they told her she had bronchitus and thats what set it off.....I thought that sounded crazy since she hadnt been sick any and the breathing problems just came on out of the blue.... The ER doctor kept insisting she see her PCP so she made an appt and went to see her a few days later and she found out she has a spot on one of her lungs!!! I dont know why the ER doctor didnt talk to her about it....But she is suppose to go sometime this week for a CT Scan so they can get a better look at it..... PLEASE PRAY FOR HER!! Shes already had cancer once when she was 16 so its very worrisom to us!
I would hate for her to have to go thru having cancer like that after all shes been thru health wise...She has been sick since she was 16...She had cervical cancer, an absessed kidney we fought for almost a year....Indometreosis we fought for over 2 years and ended in a hystorectomy at age 19 and now they think she might have ostiprosis on top of waiting to find out what the deal is with the spot on her lung.....So any prayers would be greatly appreciated!!!

Would also like to ask prayer for my grannie and Joes mom....My grannies been having heart problems alot the past few months and been in the hosptial 4 times the past few months, the first time she had a pace maker/defibulator put in and this last time she had a heart attack and had to have a stent put in............
And Joe....She's 80yrs old and we are really worried if she can handle a surgery like brain surgery!!.....

Well I guess Im off here...We had one of the babies last night and it's time to go do some Nannie work lol lol.....I miss you guys and hope things are going well for all of you......
Take care.....God Bless each of you....Luv & Hugs....Tammy~ammy
