Wow, I Samuel is getting very interesting.  Eli allowed his sons to behave in the wrong way as priests. In verses 13-16, they were not satisfied with the pieces of meat that God allowed them to have.  Verse 22 says that they had wrong sex. Deuteronomy 21:18-21 says that a father should discipline his son. If his son refused, the leaders of the town should judge that son. Then the people of the town should kill the son. God wanted evil removed from among the Israelites but Eli was greedy too and he became fat.  This right here was a lesson for me to learn, being greedy gets you no where but fat, especially being greedy with food.  When we don’t follow instructions, Gods instructions, the doctors instructions etc. we get greedy and things start to happen and we get off track and before we know it we’re like Eli, he had gotten greedy in many areas of his life and became fat and blind, his health was very bad, he did not have control of his sons and let them do as they pleased, even though they were priests they acted as if they were to good to disciplined and we see the results, all of Eli’s family died.  This whole book is full of lessons if we’ll search them out and allow God to speak to us.

I Chronicles 22:19
“Now set your mind and heart to seek (inquire of and require as your vital necessity) the Lord your God"

We all have opportunities to lose our joy and get discouraged trying to endure life. But God never intended for us to just endure life, He created us to enjoy life. And whether you realize it or not, you prepare for either victory or defeat at the start of every day. When you get up in the morning, you have to choose to set your mind in the right direction. You may feel discouraged. You may be thinking, “I don’t want to go to work today." “I don’t want to deal with these children." “I’ve got so many problems." However, if you dwell on those negative thoughts, then you are preparing for a lousy day. Instead, turn it around and say, “This is going to be a great day. Something good is going to happen to me. God has favor in my future and I’m expecting new opportunities, divine connections, and supernatural breakthroughs."

When you take on this attitude, you are preparing for victory, increase, and restoration! Having an attitude of faith allows God to show up and show out in unusual ways. It opens the door for Him to work in your life and pour out His supernatural blessing on you!

Today's thought: I choose to set my heart and mind on You today. I know that You have good things planned for me. Use me to be a blessing to others.

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
