Daily Bible Reading - Saturday April 25

I did a bit of research on the book of Judges and found that these stories are about the northern *tribes. The people in *Canaan may have attacked 6 northern *tribes. The enemy is Jabin the king of Hazor. He does not do anything in the story, but he is still important. Jabin may be the name of a royal rank rather than a personal name. In Joshua 11, we read that people had destroyed Hazor. However, they had probably built it again. About 40 000 people lived in it. People thought that they had destroyed Hazor. But now they knew its power once more. This was another attack by an old enemy. There is something similar in the book called Revelation. There we read about an evil animal. People had hurt its body so that it would die. Then it recovered. We can say that we have succeeded against enemies and bad things. However, they can come to life again. In this world today, no success against what is wrong will ever be final. Is what really hit me is that they were trying to be successful but going about it totally the wrong way, a lot like us when we would try to diet, we all had different ways of going about it and were never successful until having WLS.  Isn’t success sweet? Losing the weight and being able to keep it off and being able to only eat a certain amount then stop, isn’t that a great feeling, stopping because you can? It’s great, it is totally one of the best success stories we can live out.

Daily Devotional

Psalm 20:5
"May there be shouts of joy when we hear the news of your victory, flags flying with praise to God for all that he has done for you. May he answer all your prayers!"

You have a great dream and a vision for your life. Everyone does; that's what keeps people motivated during the tough times. The problem isn't that people don't have dreams—it's that they don't do their part to fulfill those dreams and allow them to come to pass. God wants you to pursue and fulfill your dreams, and not to let everyday life stand in the way. Of course, there are many daily routines to be done, but don't let these things stop you from striving towards the goals God has put in your heart. He doesn't want you to stop until you have discovered all that He has in store for you!

Today's thought: God, I know that You have great and wonderful things for me. Help me not give in to the pressures of the world around me as I pursue the dreams you have for me!

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
