Daily Bible Reading - Monday April 20th
It seems in Joshua the people in Rueben and Gad and where ever else didn’t learn their lesson the first time and have built an altar which is against the Lord. They are still under the Lords punishment from disobeying him before and yet they go and do that. You know, you’d really think people would learn their lesson the first time, the second time is just gonna be worse punishment and I’m sure the Lord is gonna be even harder on them but yet they don’t seem to care or they don’t think the Lord is gonna punish them further.
In Luke they think Jesus isn’t very smart or something, they keep trying to trick Him into saying something wrong so they can take proof back and have Jesus arrested but as we all know Jesus knows what they are up too, You’d really think the people would know better but nope, they obviously don’t, one day they’ll sure know though and wished they had followed Him.
Boy that verse 16 of proverbs this morning is a true statement. “Wise people think before they act; fools don’t – and even brag about their foolishness" How so very true that is.
Boy I really want my life to have the anointing of God on it like the devotional says, that’s the only way to live your life, without the anointing of God on you things are so much harder but when you have His anointing on you, your life seems to flow and be so much better. With Gods anointing you know your living and doing the right things, His blessings flow with His anointing.
Today’s Reading
Joshua 21:1-22:20
Luke 20:1-26
Psalm 89:1-13
Proverbs 13:15-16
Daily Devotional
Psalm 23:5
“…You anoint my head with oil"
In the Bible, oil is symbolic of the anointing of God. Do you know what oil does? It makes things flow. Whenever there is friction or something gets stuck, putting oil on it makes it become more fluid. That’s what God wants to do for you. He wants to anoint your head with oil. When he does that, notice what David says in Psalm 23, “Because God anoints me, because I walk in His favor; surely, goodness and mercy will follow me everywhere I go."
His anointing makes things easier. People will go out of their way to be good to you for no reason. You’re going to have creativity, wisdom, and good ideas. God’s anointing on your life will cause the right doors to open. It will bring the right people across your path. It will make things go smoother. And the good news is, all you have to do is ask Him for it. Remember, He longs to be good to you. You can trust that His anointing will make things easier, and He will lead you into the abundant life He has in store for you!
Today's thought: Thank You for Your favor in my life today. Thank you for causing me to be at the right place at the right time. Anoint my head with Your oil so that I move forward in the path You have for me.
It will be another busy week for sure for me so thought I better get in here and chat a bit before I am off and running for the rest of the week...
As I was reading in Psalm today where it said:
...with my mouth I will make your faithfulness known through all the generations. I will declare your love stands firm forever, that you have established your faithfulness in heaven itself.
...that made me think if I have been faithful to proclaim those things before my girls so that they have an established knowledge both by my example in word and deed and in there personal lives to be able to carry on to future generations the good word above? I will have to be more conscience of that and the words of my mouth concerning the "faithfulness and love" of the Lord.
I loved the devotional today about the anointing! Haven't you just known people that it was obvious that the anointing is flowing in their lives? That gives me great encouragement that all that we have been reading this year about striving for the mark of the prize of the high calling will also bring the anointing in our lives!!! That thrills me, encourages me, excites me, urges me on to diligence, discipline, surrender, submission, laying down of my own self for what the Lord would have me do. That's all easy to write here and just a bit more difficult when put to the test huh? But... "how much can I endure when I know I cannot be defeated?" I know it's a whole lot more than my "flesh" tells me it is! Amen and Amen!
Have a good day all and just be ever so blessed!
