Daily Bible Reading - Friday April 10th
Well the time finally came for Moses to go to the ultimate promised land and for Joshua to take over. Did you notice as reading the first part of Joshua what the Lord was stressing to Joshua? It kind of hit me, the Lord said several times to Joshua to be strong and courageous and for him not to get discouraged. Do ya think the Lord was trying to tell Joshua something right off? Why is Joshua gonna need to be strong and courageous? I guess we will find out soon enough. Finally the people were able to cross the
Proverbs sort of goes along with what the Lord was telling Joshua, a righteous man is cautious in friendship…in other words be careful who your friends are, take wisdom when making friends, the way of the wicked leads them astray, be careful of your friends, don’t let them lead you astray. What a good word for making friends and being careful what you do with them.
***Bec*** Like Peggy said, thank you for the words, God sure has a way of using people when others need encouragement or a word in a specific area. You truly hit the nail on the head with me, even though you have no idea what situation I am struggling with God sure knows and has a way of giving you words when you need it the most. I can see Victory just around the corner that’s for sure. Isn’t it awesome how God gives you words in the middle of the night, then you wake up and go do some reading and you find that the exact word He gave you is part of the reading for the day? God works in so many wondrous ways.
***Peggy*** Like you I been struggling with something since I was a teenager, I just havnt been able to get the total victory, until now. Reading through the bible like we are and reading comments from you all and others that comment every so often has really opened my eyes to new things the Lord had tried to show me ages ago, silly me haha!! Like I told Bec, for me Victory is just round the corner and I’m sure not giving up until I grab it. Like you also I have struggled with submission and surrender, maybe not in the same way you have though but have always had trouble submitting to Gods authority, but that ole devil knows his days are numbered.
Thanks again for all you alls comments.
Oh yeah, the Devotional, haha does it hit me with what I been talking about. Be anxious for nothing, oh lawd now I’m gonna have to add patience to the list?? I don’t dare ask God for patience lol he sure knows how test you on that one for sure!!
Today’s Reading
Deuteronomy 34:1-Joshua 2:24

Psalm 79:1-13
Proverbs 12:26
Daily Devotional
Philippians 4:6
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God"
So many people today are living uptight, worried and anxious about the future, filled with frustration and concern. In the natural there may be good reason, but understand, that is not God’s best. God doesn’t want us to live in anxiety and frustration; He wants us to live in peace. You can find rest in Him knowing that no matter what is happening around you, God Almighty has His hand on you.
The next time you’re tempted to worry or be anxious about something, remember this verse. God invites us to come to Him. In fact, the Bible says He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him. But notice, we can’t just come to Him any old way. He wants us to come to Him with a heart of gratitude and thanksgiving. Begin by simply saying, “Father in heaven, thank You for the privilege to come before You. Thank You for hearing my prayers." As you come to Him with an open and humble heart, He will hear you and fill you with His peace and joy all the days of your life.
Today's thought: Heavenly Father, today I choose to be anxious for nothing. I choose to set aside my worries and concerns. I thank You for Your faithfulness to meet every need in my life.
Peggy before I write about today's reading I wanted to say how very true what you wrote about guilt is:
True guilt means worthy of blame (and leads us to God), false guilt is condemnation. And condemnation is intended to separate us from God. We can definitely see which Satan prefers.
Such a good way to tell if Satan is buffeting us. My heart goes out to both you and Andy as you strive to find a place of peace concerning what you are dealing with.
My thoughts lent to this part of the old Testament reading:
Be strong and very courageous. Be careful to obey all the law my servant Moses gave you; Do not turn from it to the right or to the left, that you may be successful where ever you go. Do not let this Book of the Law depart from your mouth; meditate on it day and night so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful. Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.
You know even though this was written in, another day, to a different set of folks and another set of cir****tances... how true it is for us today! It's called "Living Word".... I just love that! The Lord has given us a set of commands to live by and if we choose to follow those commands we can have the confidence that He will go with us where ever we go and we can be courageous because He has our back... so to speak! Isn't that just thrilling! But as we have been learning all year now... we have a responsibility to do those things: obey, surrender, submit, humble our selves in His sight! Once again that is driven home to us! Repetition Repetition Repetition I guess it's what it takes to get thru my thick head!!!
Peggy ~ I can feel that when you get thru this time of learning you are going to see such victory in your life!!! You are going to be successful in surrender and submission! It might not be all at once and this might not be over soon but you can know and be courageous that since you are willing to look at it and learn (even though it is so hard)... the Lord is going to honor that and do a great work in you and in turn He is going to use you to help others that are going thru the same thing thus bringing glory and honor to Himself!!! That's exciting my friend!
And Andy I can see similar things in you as well. As you are striving to be a more disciplined person the Lord is speaking to you and teaching you the importance of denying self thus it's going to give you the strength to minister for Him! Who knows what the Lord has for your future but I can see great possibilities!
Oh boy was today's old testament portion I have written about and the devotional ministered straight to mine and Paul's need! As things continue to worsen with his job even as of this week it would be so easy to become so very anxious but I'm going to choose to NOT be anxious about it and to be thankful!
Philippians 4:6
“Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God
This word is so very timely to us! Once again the Lord sends just what I need to meet me at the very point of it!
Well this will be my last post for probably a week... I might be able to get on Tuesday or Wednesday but not for sure?
Paul and I are going to be at his sisters doing a building project... I will be keeping up in the readings with you all and will be praying that the Lord continues to minister His precious blessings as we continue on!
