Daily Bible Reading - Monday March 23rd

Can you believe we are already going into Deuteronomy? Wow how time flies when the reading is good and it really has been good hasn’t it?  It seems every other word I read in Deuteronomy this morning was rebel rebel rebel.  So many were rebelling against God. Can you remember a time that you rebelled against God? I can remember a few times, well a lot of times actually.  Seems I have rebelled many times against God yet He still loves me and only wants the best for me, isn’t that just like our God?  No matter what we do, say or anything God will always and forever love us.

The devotional this morning really hits the spot as always actually.  God’s outstretched hand is always there when we need it, actually it’s always there no matter what.  As believers praise God we don’t have to go through life depending on ourselves but we have the outstretched hand of God to reach out to and help us pull ourselves together, to help us get through any and all situations, to help us get through the day.  God is always there for us no matter what the situation may be.  Whether we need a healing in our bodies, or maybe we need favor with someone or some company that we are having to deal with, or maybe we encouragement, what it may be God’s hand is always stretched out to us, all we have to do is grab it and He will do the rest, is that just awesome, just like a dad, always there for his children.

***Bec*** Seems like today’s scripture and devotional just continues from yesterday doesn’t it? Well the scripture does cuz it’s the next day lol.  Yesterday He had a plan for us, today we don’t have to rely on ourselves to execute that plan, we have Him to lean on and to help us get that plan in motion.  Whatever we need He has, whatever we may need to do He is there with His outstretched hand to see us through, is that awesome?? Wow!!! Not only does He have a plan, He has a way to get that plan going for us, if that doesn’t make you shout, when you get down to Psalms you WILL shout, shout for joy!!!

Daily Devotional

Isaiah 14:27, AMP
“For the Lord of hosts has purposed, and who can annul it? And His hand is stretched out, and who can turn it back"

As believers, you and I have an advantage. We don’t have to go through life just depending on our own talent, our own ability, our own strength. The Scripture talks about how God’s hand is outstretched toward His people. That means there is a supernatural power behind every believer. God’s outstretched hand will help you accomplish dreams that you thought were impossible. His outstretched hand will cause you to get well even when the medical report says there is no way. The outstretched hand of God will help us to prosper even when the economy is down.

Let this sink down into your heart today. All through the day, imagine God’s hand outstretched toward you. It is a hand of healing, a hand of favor, a hand of restoration. No matter what you may be facing, you have to realize there is a force for you that is greater than any force that will ever be against you. You’re attitude should be, “I am not settling where I am. I know I have an advantage. As a child of the Most High, I know God’s hand is outstretched toward me."

Today's thought: Father in heaven, thank You for Your outstretched hand of protection and provision for me. I choose to lay aside every fear and every concern knowing that You will make a way for me.

I Corinthians 15:57 - But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.

Good Morning Mr. Andy...

I know you and dear Suz are on the road right now and I am praying safe travels today and that you both have strength of body as it will be a long day.

Susan I'm so thrilled you are doing so well... that walking will benefit you so much!

Boy the word was good again this morning...

We read of disobedience in the old testament....ornery thinking against the Lord in the New Testament...the results of the selfish man in the Proverbs ...yet through out there are AWESOME words of hope and encouragement!

Oh are you right about the Psalms... JOY JOY JOY!!! listen to the words I picked out of just this portion:

Shout! Joy! Praise! Glorious! Awesome! Power! Great! Preserved! Refined! Abundance!  All this in just today's portion!  There is hope in the name of the Lord!  Ok Andy I AM shouting in my very spirit!

Yet more words of wisdom in the Proverbs:

One man gives freely, yet gains even more... A generous man will prosper; he *****freshes others will himself be refreshed.

And then there's the devotion... more good word!

You know there is just no better way to start my day than to fill it with the "living word" one that meets my needs from day to day... that continually gives me hope for the future!  Either in this life or the one to come!  Yippee!!!

Thank you both for your faithfulness.  I have to honestly admit that this is the first time in my Christian walk that I have made this kind of commitment and stuck with it.  I may miss a few days on the weekend but I make sure and catch up on Monday morning.  I love reading back and seeing what nuggets you all have mined and posted.  Loved the devotional on Joel 2:25 and the section in Numbers 33:55-56 yesterday.  Awesome.

Since Shelia and I have been working on the lies I have believed we hit a huge point last session.  Surrender and submission.  Easy to sing "I surrender all"...hard to DO!  I know it's an act of the will and I have been studying what it means; putting God's interests ahead of mine.  It's an act of love.  Yielding to His desires without resistance.

Because of the evil in this world (that God will use for good!) I have allowed myself to believe that surrender/submission equals hurt. Bec..you understand.  My question is this...how do you physically & mentally surrender to God?  I'm not looking for a formula but how you personally do it yourself.  I just need examples to put in my head as I go to Shelia and start to work on this.  Mark thinks of the Japanese emperor's surrender at the end of WW II.  Shelia thinks of living sacrifice....like Abraham and Isaac.  Just wondered how you all think it thru.

Thanks.
Peggy
