Update on Susan

It looks like they finally got her heart rate settled down, she had doctor after doctor coming in to look at her last night.  They determined that so far there is no leak or bleeding so they are hoping it was just the surgery itself messing with her body.  They gave her a beta-blocker to calm her heart down and that worked but her suger as of 1:30am  was still up over 300 so they finally put her on an insulin drip so please pray that calms down.  Her sugar had been doing so good before surgery.  I havnt checked on her since about 3am so Im gonna go back up there and see how she is then try to get a shower at the gym here or something.  Thank you all so much for your prayers, they really do work.  And thank you BEC for staying with me all day until way after dark, I dunno what i'd done without your company.  I will keep you all updated as I know more,  Thanks again.

Andy

oh thank you God.....Andy i have been checking and it really isnt that uncommon for the blood sugar to do that after surgery of any kind....the insulin drip should get it under control ....Peggy even said hers did that after surgery....how is she doing mentally ...how is her pain level? tell her that her babies are both just fine....that they are going out for me great now....maybe the getting them out of their own house for a while was just the thing to do it.  Chrssy still once in awhile sort of acts like she wants to knaw on me lol but with out teeth she doesnt do much lol bless her heart.
You can tell they both miss both of you ...so tell Susan quit trying to stay there in the hospital longer and get well so she can come home.   lol    love  Jan

Jan so far they havnt put her on an isulin drip yet like Dr. Ferring said they were yesterday.  Her blood sugar this morning was back up to 350, just a few mins ago they checked it and its down a bit to 258, I have been on them to see why she isnt on the drip all morning, otherwise she is doing pretty good.  Her heart rate is 95 now so thats good and she is still sort of out of it but she's slowing getting there.  She has been for a walk and is sitting up in a chair so thats good also.  First thing when I walked into the room this morning she asked how the babies were lol typical momma!!  We are waiting now for them to give her the blue ice chips.  Also we requested a private room and she is first on the list so pray they give her one so I can stay up here with her,  I know I should prolly go to Bec's and get a good nights rest but at the moment Im more comfortable making sure they are doing their job,  its a busy hospital I know but each patient should be treated with respect, anyway  thats what I know for now, things are slowly getting better,  praise the Lord.

Andy;

Please tell Susan I have you both in my heart and prayers. I know she will be fine. I believe that her sugar will calm in time. Stress is a real trigger with sugar levels. Heaven knows this surgery is stressful. I sure understand how you want to be with Susan all the time. No one takes care of our loved ones like we do. Knowing you, I surely know no one can spoil her like you do. Gotta love ya!

Hang in there friend everything will be fine.

Hugs; Barbara

Hi Andy,

Even though I have never met you and Susan, I feel like I know you thru your daily post. I am so glad Susan is doing better. I think I had to have insulin while in the hospital also but I never had to have any after I got home. So hopefully that will mellow itself out. It may be just the stress of being in the hospital also. That is very stressful for some people. Anyway glad the surgery is over with and she is doing better. Will keep her in my prayers...

Thanks Andy for updating us.....I will keep the prayers going for you both....Tell Susan that were all thinking of her and that we are all praying for her.....Now as for you...Yes you would be more comfortable at Bec's but I think you doing the right thing with staying with Susan...we all know that things dont usually get done right unless we stay on top of it....So please try to take care of yourself too though and try to get some rest too, please...
Love and hugs
