Any BPDers in Missouri?

I was just checking to see if I can find any BPDers in MO or KS.  Just looking for some local support.

Most know it as DS but when mine was done it was a BPD without the DS.  It's not a common one and so I'm just trying find some support.  There used to be a bunch of people from the Dr. office on here, but I'm not able to find anyone.

what is a BRD? is that an older procedure?  

Yes, it was originally known as the BPD/DS.  Now you mostly see it refered to as the DS.  However, my surgeon (Dr. Siefers from Shawnee Mission KS) only did the BPD piece.   You can read more about this kind of surgery on the dsfacts.com website.

I don't think Colleen is having that area support group any longer, I am a full DS, but I use the Beautiful Butterfly Family or Friends in Osage Beach, we are having a meeting the last Sat. of each month.  I drive down usually from Sedalia. I can't give them any advice and they can't give me any either but they are the best bunch of gals that you would ever want to meet.  The VSG is pretty close to what you have and there are several from here, that Dr. H has done.  If you would like to come with me you get to my house then I will take us the rest of the way.  I may not be able to drive that far this month because I just had surgery for hernia and TT but your welcome to come anyway.  Bec from here has been there.  Dr.H has a meeting every first Sunday of the month,....those are him talking about things that post op may need and trying to keep them in line.  Not much help am I that's all I know.  I am 3 yrs out from surgery how are you doing??  Are you keeping up with doctor visits and supplements?  You don't malabsorb like the rest of us do so you have to watch really close what you eat.  Have you reached goal?  I would love to know how your doing.  I am where I am going to be, I am really tall and have pretty big bones I will never be tiny,....and I am OK with that.  I feel great well I did till I had surgery, and I feel great for what I have been through. I am healing great no sores so far,.........knock on wood don't want to jinks it.  So let me know if you need anything I would be glad to help you if I can.
