I'm a lap band patient of 5 years. I've been posting here for may years on and off. Just wondering if any of you are familiar with Camp Barnabas in Purdy, MO. I'm sending my daughter with special needs for the first time there in July. Just needed some support and I know some of you live in the Qzark area. I'm from Blue Springs, MO.  Maybe we can chat and or meet if it;s neer anything! I'm planning on camping out in the back yard of the camp if need be. She has never been away from me so I'm going through the whole worried thing. Any thoughts are certainly wanted and acepted! Thanks!  All of this stress is making want to eat!

Thanks! I appreciate the info! She'll be 10 this summer, but I worry because she is so routine oriented.  I know I need to get her to be independent though. I'm sure that camp will help.

Janet  i have never been there but i have never heard anything but great things about it....dont fret we all have to let loose the apron strings at one time or the other in our kids lives, special needs or not it isnt easy but we have to do it and allow them to grow.....
let go and let God.....Jan

Thanks Jan! I know you are right! I was thinking of staying in a hotel near the camp for the week. It would be nice to have a kid free week. I am sure it will do her so much good! I'm a huge worrier because she has communication delays associated with Autism. However, she can get her point across!
Thanks for the encouragement!
