WHATS HAPPENING TUESDAY

Jan C.
on 3/9/09 2:43 pm - Cedar Creek, MO

Took Joe to the ortho doctor this morning and he got 3 shots of steroids in his back, will have to go thru the process of seeing the doc in two weeks and then have another appointment to have another shot or shots then in two weeks back to see doctor and then another shot and see the doctor in ts wo weeks again. it is a long drawn out process ...it isn’t unheard of for the first shot to not do much good but by the time he get them done the third time it works and usually last somewhere between 6 months and a year.  But right now he is in pain and wanting to sleep which is what he does after the shots. I don’t imagine they are very pleasurable to get...big long needles  put into your back...ouch.

After getting him out of there we stopped in Forsyth at my pcps and yes I do have a UTI pretty bad one she said...so now im on antibotics....and eating yogurt so the antiboties don’t cause a yeast infection. Always something it seems....

Stopped at grocery store and got a couple of things , didn’t stay long as Joe was getting really tired...finally got him home and by the time he got i

in the house all he was good for was to lay down. Bless his little pea picking heart

SUSAN:::::::I was glad to take your pictures , just wish my printer did a better job...i guess im going to have to break down and buy a new one...that one is about 10 years old and the scanner has been broken for about a year ...still copies well but now looks like the printer isn’t wanting to work too well.

Can you believe 8 more days....wow only 8 days left of the old Susan and the new Hybrid edition of Susan will appear....the reason I call us Hybrid is that we are like the Hybrid cars that run farther on less fuel...that is the way we do...we run farther with less too lol

Im glad that you enjoy taking care of the chickens....wont be long till you and Andy can partake of the  egg s. When they say you can have milk and eggs you can eat the proteinj soufflés. That will taste good to you, well It may not but you will want to find ways to get lots of protein....you know with Andy and me too you will be pushed to the limit lol

We aren’t going to let you fail for sure. Lol

BARB  S:::::::sounds like little Baby is going like a house afire....

You have been drinking diet sodas all along? Or you just started back after  you lost a lot of weight. Here I thought you were a rule obeyer....lol

Im glad you stopped drinking them tho....they really do make you hungry.....you know I quit them about a year before I had surgery....i got to looking around and noticed that most of the people that drank diet coke were fat. Lol so I figured they didn’t help them any....

I hope that next year I will have lots more daffodils to bloom out...i am ordering 2 bushels of them to get planted this fall....want to make lots of big big patc hes of them....and they are  all different colors. Ordered abut 50 different pink ones too.

Will have to get someone to help me to plant that many bulbs that is for sure.

BEC :::::: I know you feel like that was one of the worst days in your life...but you know it isn’t and you can join Lana in the wig melting contest lol .....she did the same thing . bless you sweet heart, I wish I was there I would hug you really good but I think I would have to start laughing , not at you but at all the crazy things that happened all in a row.

I hope you understand about my smiling at you and not be angry but all of it together was just a group of silly incidents that shouldn’t have happened to anyone but they all happened to you lol

Yes you can use sweet potatoes to get  sweet potatoe plants....i just have always bought the sweet potato slips at the nursery....

Zinnia are planted just like Marigolds , and they don’t require anymore water than they do...they are a dry plant in fact the hotter and sunnier and dryer it gets both of these plants flourish....

Oh yes and Preen is granuals....just  cant plant seeds and put Preen on it before the plants get up but as soon as they are up you can clear all the weeds away and  put down preen. It iis a life saver.

Hope the rest of your night and today has been calmer and quiter .....oh on your hair being short I think your face looks thinner when it is pulled up than when it is long and down...so maybe with you wearing it down a lot is why you think your face is still fat...

So if it looks thinner with your hair up it should look thinner with your hair short. ...so don’t despair about the hair...im sure you look a lot better than you think....love you sweetness. God was protecting you you know...what it could have done was melt and stick to your face and give you horrible burns ....Praise God that what happened that God was in control....

Oh about the strawberry plants....i have 25 in the planter I have and am ordering me 50 more....but Strawberry are my favorite and can eat them every day....

PEGGY::::: you bet your sweet boopie I will be at your sale...if I cant get Sugar to come up the night before Joe and I will come up the night before .for your sale...where will it be at the farm or at your house?

I am praying for Marks test to be fine and when do you get the results of your test that you had the other day? I am praying about that too.

As a nurse  I have always wondered , who in the world ever thought of the idea im going to give this guy some nitro that blows up buildings to see what it does to his heart.  Wow what an idea lol sort of like the guy that looked at a chicken and said that thing that just came out of that chickens butt , hummmm I think I will eat it lol..weird stuff I think of sometimes lol ...

Did you hunt down the possum gang yesterday??

SUSIE::::: oh my gosh are these all clothes that you bought since you had surgery? Wow girl you do like to shop huh? Wow girl....lots of money to toss... hope you are at least giving them to someone down the line from you lol

MARY::::::: on the grapes it says that they may cause distress due to the fiber...and they probably will early out...im going on 3 years out and I just started eating them the last 6 months and they sort of like prunes for me...i have a lot of trouble with constipation so they help. Lol

On the being tired how much protein are you getting? I know Dr. Hornbostel has his people to drink slim fast but anytime I drink even a few sips of that stuff I get  to feeling really sick....so I don’t know if it is very good for anyone or not.

Oh on the thing that you are talking about on the back pain think it is called a tens unit and my hubby has one  it doesn’t help him much...sometimes it will give him a little relief but not a lot of the time. I use it more than he does ....it does help me because my pain is a lot of the time muscle spasms.

I had Dr. H and he and his staff are one of a kind....they are all wonderful and when I had my surgery the staff at the hospital was the best and I have been at some of the biggest hosp there are. But none of them were as competent as the staff at Bothwell.

I have a web site that I have a lot of my flower pictures on if I can get Andy to put it back on my signature line you can see them then....ok  and you would re think the soil in Mo. If you could see mine. Lol...dont know why but  I have 3 acres of the best dirt. No clay, no sand just nice loamy dirt. Grows everything I put in it like crazy...

Good luck on your surgery you have one of the best surgeons there is so don’t worry you will be great.

SANDY:::::: well we haven’t had the wind and rain like you all have had...so , so far I cant say im tired of it... but I sure am hating that we are going to be back to cold cold , with sleet and freezing rain ... yuck....

I raised some white cucumbers last  year that were the best things I have ever eaten....i loved them and I don’t really care much for cucks.

I saved some seeds from them for this year and I hope they grow well this year as they did last year....

LOVE AND HUGS

GOD BLESS ALL OF YOU

Hey Jan:

LOL still. You thought I was a rule obeyer?   When I had my surgery, Dr. H  had only done about 20 of our surgeries, so his program was not developed. The only instructions I received was, eat what you want and if it bothers you, don't eat it again. So, I had to learn the hard way. Back when I had my surgery which was nearly 6 years ago, when I ask about diet soda, he stated, it can't stretch your pouch so if you want it, it is OK.. Of course, things have changed and a lot has been learned. I only had to have one class with a nutritionist and she constantly told me how much she disapproved of the surgery and she was only 20 lbs from qualifying for the surgery. I still laugh at that one. I have gained about 20 lbs but, will get it off when I can walk again. Haven't walked much this winter.

Daylight savings is messing with my mind. Its dark and I have to go to work. They even got half a day out of me yesterday.
No Jan the clothes are older ones not new ones since surgery. I do have a few peices bought since that are pretty baggy  but only a few. I haven't bought a lot since surgery.Thats why I need to. I just had way to much from before. If it fit I bought it. I go now and just look mostly.

Have a safe Tuesday, watch out for the storms.

What a beautiful morning. I hope you are all doing well. I hope this weather holds out till Thursday and Friday then maybe I can get some outside work done before my surgery while I am still able to lift. Looks like the upper midwest is going to  get hit with a blizzard. Just keep it north is all I am thinking.

I went walking yesterday, walked a mile on an indoor track. I hate walking indoors or on tracks, but the friend I was walking with just had a stroke last week and she cant walk outdoors currently so we had to compromise.  She is doing much better each day. Thank goodness.

I had to quit after a mile because I was dizzy and my leg and butt muscles were cramping so bad I could hardly stand it. Figured out the hard way as well that I needed new shoes, so last night I went and bought cross trainers so they will  give me more support and hopefully will help me not get anymore blisters on the balls of my feet.  I am very sore this morning, but I am sure that will pass.

I did try the protein drink I was telling you all about. So after my walk I downed 40 g of protein., that is how much the drink had in it, with nothing else added bu****er and flavor. It helped for about an hour. Then I crashed, I could hardly keep my eyes open and felt awful. I had to make myself get up and keep moving. I was asleep on the couch at 8 last night right after I put the kids to bed. I think I beat them asleep. Then moved to our bed at 9 am, really had to fight to get up this AM.  I had a glass of clear juice this morning and it seemed to help perk me up a bit. I am trying to not overdo it on that one because of the sugar.

Jan.... thanks for the advice on the grapes, that gives me something to look forward too. In a few years they should be growing pretty well. Meanwhile the kids and hubby can enjoy whatever fruit may come of it all.  I am definately going to have to find some composted dirt and probably amend some manure into my soil. I would love to have what we had back in Iowa back. Nice black dirt I could grow anything.

You are right the shock thing is called a tens, sorry it doesnt help your hubby out more. How awful that he is in such pain. I hope things start to ease up for him. Can they do anything else for him besides the shots?

So far I really like Dr. H and his staff and the staff at the hospital were great when I had my scope. Only thing I felt awful about was the poor little older gal who was pushing me out in a wheel chair. She had to weigh only about 80 lbs wet. I was more than capable of walking and felt awful that they made her push me.

Susan, we are down to the last stretch. I am so ready for Sunday to be here. I still have to make our hotel reservations so we dont have to leave at 4 am again, and so hubby has a place to stay Monday night.  I am sure we will meet soon.

Susie, Sorry I am bad, I didnt respond to your invite for the Springfield group. Mondays are crazy for me anyway, and after I felt so bad yesterday I know I wouldnt have gone. Thank you for inviting me along though I do appreciate it. I will definately be at the next group meeting for the group you were going to hold at your place, before we all got snowed in.

Well I will talk to you all later, Have a great day !!!

I survived Monday! I really hate Mondays! Today is another beautiful day though.  I'm still on my stall, its making me crazy, this is really my first full fledged where I step on the scale and everyday it says the same thing.  I'm going to drink tons of water today and get it moving agian so I can make my -100 lb in 6 month goal, only 10lbs more to go.  I guess I will have to run a little longer at the gym.  I'm getting all my protein and vitamins in, and the best news is my hair falling out is tappering down.  My grandma gave me some aloe vera pills about a month ago, she swears by them and I truly believe that its helped my hair and my skin looks good too.  I'm going to keep taking them.  They are whole leaf aloe and you take 4 per day.  One of my friends passed away Friday and today is his visitaion, tomorrow the funeral.  He was the same age as me 38, two little girls, 7 and 10 and a wife.  He was also a soldier, he came back from his 3 or 4th tour in the war and found out he had lukemia.  Anyway please keep his family in your prayers. I know they really need it.  Well I hope everyone has a great day! Lou (~.~)

Good Morning Mimi and Mo...

Boy did you give Paul and I a good laugh with the comment you made about what came out of the chickens fanny! Does make you wonder how someone decided it was a good thing to eat!  Not the most inviting of thoughts! ~tee hee

Say... maybe you and Sugar could come up and stay overnight with me the day before Peggy's sale and then we could go up there together and you could come back and stay over again and then go on home the next day?  Sugar has never been here and it would be simply great fun!  What do you think... I also have some mineral tubs for you to take back.  Then maybe when you come in June you can bring the trike?  Just thinking... maybe you have other plans?

I would laugh about all that crazy stuff that happened to me too if I wasn't so distraught at the time! I'm sure I will in the future when I get comfortable with this situation I'm now in...  No way would I get mad at you for seeing the humorous side of it...

I did actually fix my hair today where I can live with it... I don't like it one bit but I can at least live with it and the way I am fixing it does not show my scalp near as bad... so I guess I'll just have to swallow my pride and get on with life! ~ha

There is a nursery up north of here that I have not been to yet that is suppose to have good prices... I'm going to run up there soon and have a look see.... Some one told me they have seed sweet potatoes.... I know I have heard that if you put tooth pics around part of a cut sweet potato and then set half of it in a glass of water it will make a beautiful house plant... have you ever done that?

I got a 6" to 8" variety of zinnia I am going to put in the planters around the fountain this year... it is so hot and sunny out there.... I hope it works... I have not found anything yet that has pleased me just real good for those... I guess the ornamental peppers looked the best so far but I'm still looking....

Paul said what about putting strawberries around my flag pole in the two tiers I will  have there... he thinks it is silly to have all the flowers... he always says "you can't eat flowers!"  Isn't that just a MAN for you!  I stay PSSSSSST! ~ha

Sandy ~ I wanted to thank you again for the bottle of Isopure you gave me when you stopped by... I really like that flavor as well! I will know now that if I'm out and have to get something it is a good one!  I wish I was going to be in Columbia on Friday, I would sure want to get together with you!

Mary... even though I don't know you... it sure is good to see you posting and I wish you the very best on your surgery!  It is on Monday?  Boy you are almost there.  Dr. H. is a wonderful surgeon.  I did not have him because of insurance but my family has seen him for years and we are just real pleased with his and his wife's caring spirits!

And if Mimi (Jan) gets her website that the pics are on back on you will have to be sure and look at them they are gorgeous!!! simply stunning!

Ok Miss Janet and Miss Renee you gals better get on here and tell us you are ok or we will have to "ground you both" as you say and even come and take that Miss MacKenzie up to our places so we can see your beautiful faces!!!  ~ tee hee

Susan... boy oh boy can I relate to that wig situation just be glad the sun (or oven) did not scorch it off your head!!! Oh dear!!! ~tee hee

Susan and NeNe we need to make plans as to when and where to meet on Thursday!!! Oh boy I'm excited about that day!

Well Paul has to go get his truck inspected today so I am going to have him drop me off at Wal~Mart to walk... it is slushy misty here... BOYEE did we have a whopper of a storm last night... it gully washed and lightening cracked and thundered from about midnight for several hours and the wind was gale force!  glad it seems to have passed but they say another round this afternoon suppose to be 73 today and 38 tomorrow with a 19 degree low tomorrow night.... I have been so very very blessed to not have gotten a cold this year with all the different types of weather I have been out in.

Well I as always I have more I could say but better get busy ... the "queen bees" will be back tomorrow for there chicken salad! ~tee hee and I have house work I need to get done!

Blessings and a good day to all!

Bec

Good afternoon everyone,

I went to bible study this morning at the Methodist church
in Coldwater (a little settlement )it's about 5 miles from my house. Had good fellowship with all. I think there was about
4 different churches represented.

Then come home and took Sydney and Tristan to Piedmont to get diapers. I haven't felt to good the last couple of days, spent all day yesterday in bed. I fight this fybromyalgia every day and most days it wins. I know I have been snappy at Dennis and Sydney but it's hard to keep face when in so much pain.

But enough of that. Looks like it's going to rain again.
I do hope we don't get a bad storm.

Well my pain pills are kicking in so I'm going to go lay down.

Doesn't Janet post anymore?

God Bless
Brenda

Life is too short to wake up with regrets.
So love the people who treat you right..
Forget about the one's who don't.
Believe everything happens for a reason.
If you get a second chance, grab it with both hands.

If it changes your life, let it.
Nobody said life would be easy,

they just promised it would be worth it.
