Daily Bible Reading Saturday Feb. 28
My goodness, it’s the last day of February already. Doesn’t seem like we’ve been reading the bible for very long. In the last 2 months I have learned so much about Gods word, more then I really could of imagined for this short time and it has really taught me a lot, especially discipline, without discipline we might as well be wondering in the wilderness for the rest of our lives. Doing this post has really helped me overcome a few things and I can really see God is working not only in my life but in all of your lives.
Reading in Mark we are getting closer to the crucifixion, Jesus in His own way is preparing His disciples but it really seems they just don’t understand what all is going on and what is going to be happening soon. Verse 50 really stood out to me today "Salt is good, but if it loses its saltiness, how can you make it salty again? Have salt in yourselves, and be at peace with each other." That’s just like us at times, we lose our saltiness and have to renew ourselves. That right there is what reading the bible has done to me, it’s adding salt back into my life. It asks “how can you make it salty again?" Have salt in ourselves, in other words feed on the Word of God and we will become salty again, wow that right there is a testimony to me. I just thank God for the opportunity to gain my salt back, isn’t God so Good?? There we go again in Proverbs, talking about wisdom. He who holds his tongue is wise, boy do I need to live by that more often haha. The tongue can sure get you in trouble, can’t it?
Today’s Reading
Leviticus 22:17-23:44
Mark 9:30-10:12
Psalm 44:1-8
Proverbs 10:19
Daily Devotional
Isaiah 41:10, AMP
"Fear not [there is nothing to fear], for I am with you; do not look around you in terror and be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen and harden you to difficulties, yes, I will help you; yes, I will hold you up and retain you with My [victorious] right hand of rightness and justice"
It's easy to look around at what's happening in the earth today and be tempted to feel afraid or dismayed. Cir****tances may seem overwhelming. Maybe your business is struggling, maybe you lost your job, maybe you're struggling in a relationship or concerned about the economy. During times like these, it's important to remember that God has promised that He will never leave us nor forsake us. In fact, not only is He with us, He has promised to strengthen us and harden us to difficulties. That means, when tough times come, they just bounce right off of you. You don't allow your cir****tances to steal your peace and joy. You have the attitude that says, "This may be a big problem, but my God is bigger!"
Keep in mind that the enemy isn't after your checkbook; he's ultimately after your peace and joy. He knows that if he can get your joy then he can get your strength. But when you stay connected to the Father through prayer and studying the Word and declare His promises over your life, you'll be hardened to difficulties and stay safe in the palm of God's hand!
Today's thought: I renounce fear today and choose to trust that God has a plan of victory in store for me.
