Daily Bible Reading Friday Feb. 27
Are y’all keeping up with Leviticus? I know with a book like this it’s easy to just skip it. I know that’s how I feel about it sometimes but then we wouldn’t be reading the “whole" bible if we skip over places, would we?
In Mark we are getting close to reading about the crucifixion again. I really like reading the 4 gospels because they all have a different view of the whole story. When the father of the little boy that was demon possessed asked Jesus for help and said “if you can" Jesus quickly replied “What do you mean “if"?" the man admitted he had unbelief but asked for help. Here is the part that I like, Jesus said “Anything is possible if a person believes." How many times have we missed out on something just because we had unbelief? Unbelief can destroy a person if they let it.
Reading the devotional I think we have found a way to get rid of our unbelief, if we have any, and do what the devotional says and we’ll rise high like the Father wants uus too.
Today’s Reading
Leviticus 20:22-22:16
Mark 9:1-29
Psalm 43:1-5
Proverbs 10:18
Daily Devotional
Psalm 24:3-5, NKJ
"Who may ascend into the hill of the LORD? Or who may stand in His holy place? He who has clean hands and a pure heart, Who has not lifted up his soul to an idol, Nor sworn deceitfully. He shall receive blessing from the LORD, and righteousness from the God of his salvation"
Did you know that you are meant to rise high in heavenly place? You are meant to stand with God in His Holy place? But notice that in order to ascend, we have to make sure we have clean hands and a pure heart. How do we do that? First of all, only the blood of Jesus can make us clean and new. Once we receive Him as our Lord and Savior, we have to choose every day to stand against the contaminating forces of the enemy that would try to hold us down.
It all starts in our thought life. We have to guard our thoughts by guarding what we allow to influence our thoughts. We can't jus****ch any old thing on TV. We can't just listen to any old conversation. We have to make sure that what we allow into our minds is pleasing to the Lord because what we allow into our minds will eventually filter into our hearts. If we are going to ascend, we have to have higher thoughts; we have to have a higher way of living. Choose today to ascend so that you can partake of the blessing the Lord has in store for you.
Today's thought: Today I choose higher thoughts. I choose higher living. Help me Lord to guard my heart and mind so that I can live a life that is pleasing to You.
Every word of it!!! Reading Leviticus that is! ~ha Boy oh boy... some of that stuff...
I can see a common thread in so many of the readings lately... "cleanness" so to speak...whether it is "cleanness" in all the ceremonial rituals of Leviticus, or the "cleanness of faith" in new testament, or the "cleanness of heart" in the devotional... all of these things indicate that once again I must submit myself to the things the Lord requires of me. I must make a conscience effort to be obedient as best I can to the things He has laid out and instructed me to do. I'm SOOOOOO glad I do not have to do all those rituals of Leviticus! I have questions in my mind as to why he set up all those instructions... but regardless of "why" He was very serious about them to the point of death in some instances! I'm so glad for the sacrifice of His son and the death on the cross that we are getting ready to read of again... that ushered in the age of grace! the thought going thru my mind this morning is the verse where it says He is the same yesterday, today and forever... if that is true and He was that demanding in the days of Leviticus that His instructions be followed... it leads me to believe that He is just as serious today about what is good for us to do... in the way He as instructed since the death of Jesus and the coming of grace! Do I trample over that grace to satisfy my own desires? Oh boy I pray not but something to seriously keep in my mind as I try to live a life pleasing to Him!
Oh how blessed we are! To have the opportunity to show our love for Him in "choosing" to live according to His plan for us!
Blessings to all today!

And yesterdays devotion in Revelation spoke to me as well. (I didn't make time to read it until this morning.) Shelia has repeated this verse to me many times and it is really becoming true for me. "...See, I make all things new..." He gives me the desire AND the ability... I need to remember it is His desire and therefore His ability.

Life isn't about about waiting for the storm to pass...
It's about learning to dance in the rain.
